experience with NB-5L, NB-4L
I haven't tried to make precise measurements of battery charge time and voltage output under load over time, but as a practical matter the charge times and battery life under similar usage conditions seem roughly comparable to the battery that came with the camera. Note that the NB-5L and NB-4L batteries are not interchangeable, nor are the corresponding Canon-supplied chargers (that came with the Canon cameras). Using this brand NB-4L batteries in a Canon SD Powershot 1400 IS camera, I shot over 250 images, plus about 20 minutes of video, with about 20% of the images flash-assisted, and the battery was not exhausted. I had comparable results with this brand NB-5L batteries in a Canon SX Powershot 230 HS camera. So far, these batteries seem to be a very good deal.

Cheap batteries
These batteries are cheap, for sure. But they are cheaply made, and do not last long from the start and quickly degraded further over recharging cycle. No body should be surprised by this.

Price is too good to quibble.
OK, the exterior of these batteries show some minor blemishes that suggest quality control isn't as good as the OEM batteries. At about $3 each (shipped), I can live with that. Both batteries took a full charge, and seemed to last just as long in my power-hungry Canon SX230 as the OEM battery.

Excellent, affordable alternative to the "official" brand!
I always order 1 or 2 extra off-brand batteries whenever I get a camera, and this time was no exception. I wasn't about to pay full price for the "official" Canon batteries. I am very pleased with these. Just be aware - you may find negative reviews complaining about capacity on these from professional photographers, but for the typical every day user (like me) these work perfectly. It's a very affordable way to always have plenty of extra juice on hand when you don't want to miss a special moment. For the price, they're WELL worth it and I highly recommend you try these before shelling out big bucks for the Canon brand!

A decent replacement for your sagging battery
I know these are used for lots of stuff, we use them for our power hungry Nikon Digital camera.Well, they were cheap enough that I bought several so that I could have one or two ready at any one time while one was charging. They do the job. Hard to tell if they are better or not as good but they work. What more can one ask?

Batteries fit perfect but don't hold a charge between camera uses
Batteries look and work like originals except they only work right after re-charging. Next time you pull out the camera they are dead again - cost us some memory moments when we 1st tried them and were expecting better. I bought 2 so we could just swap them out, but the back-up battery is always just as dead as the one in the camera. Battery price was very good but very disappointed in the life-span. Now I want to buy more but don't know who to buy from - Canon is too expensive, I assume there must be a good alternative but how can one know without trying them?

Why pay more?!
I was looking for a backup battery for my Canon Powershot SD800 IS. My old Synergy Digital backup battery quit on me after a few years of use. My original OEM Canon still works ok. These came 2 for $5.80 including shipping. I was leary how they could be sooo much cheaper than the oem. The best price I could find on a Canon oem replacement was around $35. I really only needed one backup but figured at that price... These are rated at 1400mAh and last longer than the 1120mAh Canon. I now use these as primary and backup and don't even carry my Canon oem. I've only had them a few weeks but if I can get a year or more out of these batteries, it will be money well spent.Don't waste your money on oem batteries!

Form but not the function
Yes, it does fit and power on the camera. But holds only a tiny fraction of the charge. After a few years of very occasional any use, capacity seems about 10% of the geniune. Bought these twice, been stung twice.
