Amazing cookbook with a lot of recipes and history. It's an opportunity to taste and learn about Peranakan culture, history, and cuisine. I also met the author and you can feel her passion through the pages.

The media could not be loaded. This book was simply elegant and beautifully compiled and written by Sharon Wee. She captured the history, the quirkiness and the specialty of Nyonya cooking as I remembered growing up with my Nyonya mother. Being in the US for so long, this book brought back so many memories and had me salivating to the pictures of the Nyonya dishes shown in each photograph. Sharon not only focused on the food but the culture and traditions which I easily forget, being away from Malaysia for so long. I created and narrated in this short video for your enjoyment.
