Front Face Plate Faceplate Shell Case Cover Replacement for Sony PSP 1000 1001 Fat (Black)

Everything swapped over and fit nicely without modification on my psp-1001. A little tight but it snapped on and the screws pulled it together. Has all decals, and the bottom screw hole is there. You have to push a little hard to get the screws started, but it looks nice and works well for a cheap reproduction.

Somehow despite the plastic being in a wrap I received a shell that had scratches all over the front screen protector. I'm not sure how that even happens. The square button and O button did not fit properly and are uneven/ the button cut out is too large and you can see into the console. Not very happy with this but at least it wasn't too expensive.

So I ordered it when it came back in stock. It arrived perfectly, fitment was almost perfect. I have a PSP 1001, big issue is the stud for the screw near the analog stick. You need to file it down until it is flushed with the faceplate border. Otherwise you will have a stuck analog stick (not physically but performance wise). I filed it down, cleaned it, and re drilled the hole for the screw using a 1/16th drill bit. After that fitment was perfect and it looks pretty original (photo does not do it justice).

Excellent replacement for my cracked original. It was easy to swap out. 99% of any issues were results of me not adequately lining up buttons. This has allowed me to play again. Would recommend if your front is seriously scratched or cracked.

Waited to write this review to make sure the product didnt fail. This replacement faceplate worked amazing well for my PSP 1000 model. It was easy to install and made my console look brand new. It is noticable different from the original faceplate as the original is a smooth one-piece faceplate while this replacement had a screen that can be removed. While it is not a 100% OEM replacement part, it did what I needed it to do at a price that I was happy with. You cant go wrong with this if you need to replace that old nasty scratched up screen!

Product is solid quality but you should be aware it’s a 3D printed replica, it’s high quality and looks great but you may need to do some plastic trimming to get it to fit correctly. On my face plate one of the screw mounts (studs) was a bit too tall. I found this out when I screwed it down and there was a fairly large gap on that side where it didn’t meet flush. I used some sharp nippers to cut down the stud a little bit and it fits better but I may have cut a little to far down but it’s not bad. Another review said they had to trim around the buttons to get them to fit. This is just par for the course with cheaper 3D printed parts that are not injection molded, just be aware it’s not a drop on perfect replacement without a little work.One last tip, if you get the faceplate on and screw it down tight and find the buttons and/or Dpad won’t press right or they don’t feel right you need to loosen the screws a bit. This is again due to the plastic screw mounts not being the perfect height all the way around. Screwing it down as tight as you can will result in the pressure being to great and there isn’t enough travel space for the buttons and Dpad.

Product came wrapped in plastic inside a box. Severe scratches like it was dragged across pavement. Button holes do not fit correctly, and leave large gaps where it can wiggle around.

I didn’t really have a standard for what to expect when I ordered this but when it came in it was actually pretty decent. You can tell the plastic isn’t the same but that’s to be expected. The clear bits on the inside for the lights for the power and what not are a little flimsier than I’d like but if you’re careful with it they do very well. Putting this one on was very easy though!
