Great taste

On the quest for the perfect Mai Tai, I ordered the Monin Orgeat after seeing in recommended as the best.Some people believe you can mix a bunch of juice and rum together and call it a Mai Tai. I don't want to sound snobby but you can't make this cocktail properly without Orgeat. I've tried a couple different Orgeat syrups and I can confirm the Monin is by far the best I've tried.I had ordered this from Amazon once before. During shipping, the bottle was damaged and resulted in a sticky mess on my front step. The ants had a giant Orgeat feast. Amazon promptly refunded the cost so I was out nothing. I located a bottle at a local gourmet shop which has since closed. I ran out... Having no other source for this stuff, I tried Amazon again. The price is less than I pay at the store and shipping is free with Amazon Prime. Happily, they've upgraded the packaging to completely protect the bottle. It arrived intact.This is great stuff.

I've been around the cocktail business for a lot of years, and be warned: there's a lot of foul tasting, bland and/or cloyingly sweet stuff out there masquerading as orgeat, and I think I've tried most of them.This is the only one I'll have in my house.Try some others if you must - experimentation and exploration is a good thing, for sure - but I'm willing to bet that in the end this is the one you'll prefer.

Sorry, I don't know if something was wrong with the product but it is awful. No almond flavor, just a sickening perfumey taste and smell. It absolutely ruins every drink I've tried to concoct, even at half strength it is cloying and overpowering. Oh, and I'm not a novice at mixing cocktails, especially tiki drinks. After reading the glowing reviews I tried this and was very disappointed which is why I wonder if something was wrong with the bottle I received. The remainder of my bottle is going down the drain, it's that bad!

I wanted to try the almond flavor which is ok if you want a better flavor the same company has an amaretto that is much better. I recommend that one over this because the flavor is a lot richer. :)

I recently purchased three orgeats available here on Amazon: Ferrara, Monin, and Teisseire. I tested each orgeat in a variety of cocktails, and Monin was the best choice in every test. It has a rich almond flavor that stands up well even when mixed with a number of ingredients in a cocktail, and gives drinks a smooth depth. Unlike Ferrara--which was my second choice--Monin's product has no preservatives and comes in a glass rather than plastic bottle, both plusses in my book. I highly recommend this orgeat.

Just tasted sweet. I can’t taste the almond, so I added a few tsp of almond extract — which helped. Might be my taste buds are off bc I’m just getting over Covid.

Monin Almond Syrup or Orgeat is great for use in mixed drinks. It's a must have if you are making real Mai Tais. (Not the garbage with pineapple juice.) It's basically simple syrup with almond extract. Monin is a good brand, just the right amount of almond flavor. It's not too overpowering, but you can actually taste it. (I've had other brands that may as well just have been simple syrup.)
