Sweet, nice tasting ripe puerh
This is a nice tasting ripe puerh for the price. At 357 grams it will last quite a long time. Ripe puerh is ready to drink, and doesn't need to be aged. It has the distinct mild and sweet flavor characteristic of ripe puerh, and every infusion produces a thick brown liquor. This cake tastes great on its own, but would also work nicely as a base for kombucha or in a tea blend.Flavor notes: cocoa, malt, root beerDescription from the product label, which I then Google translated (note, Google translate has obvious inaccuracies):"This product is selected for use as a raw material for the eucalyptus and large-leaf species of Bohai arbor, which is fermented by moderate fermentation and high temperature. This product has many buds, the leaves are tender, the soup is red and bright, its aroma is pure and lasting, the tea soup is sweet and strong, the taste is thick and sweet, and it is fresh and smooth. The color of this product is brownish red, the inner quality of the soup is bright red ice, the aroma is unique and the fragrance is mellow, and the aftertaste is mellow and sweet. It has become a unique treasure in all kinds of famous teas, and it is also a collection of tea lovers. China's Yunnan Xishuang version of the easy-to-use hand-grinding stone to suppress Ter-free tea industry spirit to achieve the folk tourism brand right."

AN AWESOME tea
I brew Tea by the Gallon, I love Dark PU-ER Tea. It reminds me of the Old southern tea from back in the 60's.These tee leaves have long leaves and the tea leaves keeps on giving. I used 85 grams of Tea leaves and I am on my 9th Gallon using the same 85 grams of leaves. The TEA heads refers to this as infusions. And I am not done yet. I ran out of plastic Gallon Jugs., so I am drinking my 9 gallons, starting from the last to the first and the tea tastes great. When I an done drinking my Tea , I will continue the Infusions until it becomes weak water. I am getting the most out of the 357 gram TEA Cake

NOT AS PICTURED! MUCH LOWER QUALITY!! FULL OF STEMS AND CHOPPED LEAVES!!!
Yea, I’m p!$$ed.. for $22 I expected it to be $22 value tea.. this is $10 tea at best.. it’s only redeemable quality is that it’s ten years older than it says on the bag it came in.. the title of and the pictures on the listing showed it to be gong ting grade golden bud tea, and this is low plucked larger leaves that have been chopped with tons of stems. This kind of false advertising seems to be rampant on Amazon and it’s irritating me because this is the second ‘Royal grade’ tea cake that I’ve gotten for Christmas that was just so not… don’t waste your money and don’t ruin the seasoning on your teapot with this junk.. I’m going to call Amazon when I’m done writing this and let them know that this is NOT what was advertised. I’ll put it in my humidor and let it come up to the proper moisture level and store it for awhile, but I’m pretty mad that I was lied to again.. definitely NOT gong ting..

Delicious, but....
This was soooooo good. Intoxicatingly bold, robust, sweet, full of flavor. However, full of stems. I don’t think that’s a good thing? Unless someone can give me an explanation if stems are to be expected then I will update my rating but I’ve bought puerh many times and I’ve never seen so many stems. This was I’d say 50-60% stems. So no! That’s not okay!! I’d give this one or two stars but even with the stems it was still delicious. So that counts for something. I can only imagine how much better it would be without so many stems.
