CM4S substitute?
Since it is practically impossible to find and purchase a CM4S, I suppose this Waveshare adapter is the next best option. This allows upgrading an original CM socket to much better RPi4 core, adapting the newer CM4 connectors to the original CM connector.The downside is that this takes a lot more physical space than the actual CM4S, so it might not work in every carrier board if it doesn't have extra clearance beyond the top of a normal CM. This isn't any issue in perpendicular slots like on the TuringPi carrier board, where the CM sticks out from the board. However, a solution like this is impossible for a parallel slot like the WD CM SATA board, which has USB A and HDMI ports in the space right after the height of the CM card, blocking use of this Waveshare adapter board.
