Glad I bought it, but...
I was worried about buying this bow because of reviews saying the sting would come out of the string grooves. But I figured it was a lack of experience with longbows or the grooves were not deep enough, which is an easy fix. What it actually was, is that the string grooves are cut perpendicular to the limbs instead of being cut at a 45 degree angle. This causes a sharp angle on the string loops, when the bow is strung. Easy fix with a file, if you are confident enough to fix it. My recommendation to Sanlida, if you see, this is to start cutting the grooves at a 45 instead of straight across. That would totally fix this issue. With all of that said, this is a smooth shooting bow and I am glad to have it in my collection. I tried to add photos of before and after but Amazon's app crashes every time I try to add them.

Just what I was looking for
For the money this is a great bow, I wanted something to step down to after an injury so I wouldn’t hurt myself and I use this bow quite often, I haven’t had an issue with it yet

Very dissatisfied
I have not been able to get much use out of this bow because the string stretched out after the first use and after that it became very difficult to string. I’ve read that the notches or grooves where the string loops go might not have been carved right. Very disappointed with my purchase.

Nice bow, arrows are okay, arm guard was too big.
The bow itself is beautiful for the price. It shoots nice. Minimal hand shock, although this is my first bow so I’m not sure what is considered bad hand shock. Arrows are.. okay. The sleeve on the fletching to help protect the bottom comes off pretty easily. Not a huge deal. The tips do loosen a little. I’d recommend checking they are tight every few shots, especially if you miss the target and hit something solid. Shafts have held up well. The arm guard is okay. It’s a little narrow, as I have fat forearms. It also has an elbow guard, which for the most part is not needed for me. I had to cut it down to fit better. My only real issue is personal. I would have preferred the X8 recurve I think. I like the longbow, but just overall ease, I would’ve gone with a 30# recurve instead of the longbow. Unfortunately, everything has been used so I figure I’m stuck with it now.Edit: My issue is simply that I underestimated storing a 68” longbow in my apartment.. if you buy this, make sure you have a wall you can hang it up on. Mine is currently sitting in front of my tv in a cedar chest.

A Great Bang For The Buck
I used to be very active in archery but that was a number of decades ago, Howard Hill used to amaze me. I started out with a wooden non-laminate longbow, then went to a BP Javelina which was a bow I loved, spent weekends making my own arrows, hunting and competing. I wanted to get my grandsons into archery because I can think of no other activity for entertainment and challenge for a boy or girl. I got them bow's, arrows and targets and they are throughly engrossed in the sport. I saw this Sanlida 68" Royal X8 Longbow and I wanted to get something for myself which was not expensive. This kit is absolutely the best deal you can imagine for an entry level archer. You're not going to the Olympic's with it but trust me you're going to have fun and maybe step up to the more expensive units. It was delivered early and intact Thank You Amazon, but many Thanks to Sanlida for offering a great deal, with in my opinion is a very good product. Sanlida you've triggered my interest in archery again to a degree that I'll be spending hours shooting arrows and yes probably buying a more expensive bow in the future. I highly recommend this product and the company offering the product. If you have a backyard and want to spend quality time with your children here's a product for you. Remember: *SAFTEY FIRST*, an arrow catching target and good backing if you miss the target. If you're not that familiar with archery I'm sure there are clubs in your community who would welcome you and your family and teach you the proper use of a bow. Good Luck and buy one.

awesome deal, great bow
I have many bows, long, recurve and compound and have been into archery for many years. This bow package is and awesome deal. Fit and finish are great, this is the first traditional bow I have ever purchased where the bow string was a good one. (Flemish twist) Most of the time I toss what came and build one. Accessories are pretty good, glove works ok for someone with smaller hands; too small for me though. Armguard is decent but I don't use them. String silencers ( fluffy fur) work well. Bow has quite a 'twang' to it with out them on. It comes with a bow stringer also. Bow kit comes with 6 carbon arrows of 30.25 length, feather fletching and 100gn bullet style field point and pin style nocks. Now the important stuff. Brace height set at 6'. Pull was spot on at 40# at 28", however my draw length is 31". Thus my draw weight came in at 45#. I have shot 200 arrows across it so far. Chrono test is as follows:Cedar shaft of 505 gn total wt at 150 fps 125gn tipCarbon shaft of 435gn total wt at 158fps 100rg tipCarbon shaft of 404gn total wt at 162 fps 100 gn tipAlum shaft of 549 gn total wt at 149 fps 100 gn tipCarbon shaft of 563 gn total wt at 144 fps 100 grn tip ( supplied with the bow)Over all I am very pleased with this bow. It shoots very well and would be a good one for someone just getting into archery or for archery clubs. Of my 5 longbows, I like this one the best. Arrow speeds are pretty close to the others I own. There is no hand shock and the draw experience is smooth. It does have a distinctive 'swoosh' sound when the string is released. I doubt I would use it for hunting, I think this is more of a target bow. Supplied arrows are pretty good, but leaning a bit on the heavy side at 14gpp at 28" on a 40# bow. With my draw length it sets about 12gpp. I do shoot heavier arrows when hunting, but for target shooting 8-10gpp would be better I think
