Best and most uplifting book on Menopause ever!
This is a must read for any woman over 40. It is packed full of knowledge AND positivity. With this book I feel armed and ready to acknowledge the change from a positive mindset and also feel empowered to ask for help if I need to.This book gives so much information in a way that is easy to digest and doesn’t overload you. The theme throughout is that this is just the next step in a woman’s journey through life.My favorite piece of info in the book is that MOST women say they are happier than they have ever been once the transition is complete. This should be shouted from the rooftop! It is the most important part of keeping everything in perspective!I also felt so intrigued about the way the brain changes for women in different stages of life. This is also left out of the conversation far too often. Women are AMAZING beings and our brains have been put down far too long!Read this and help change societies false perception as well as your own!

Very helpful
Super helpful section on supplements. After reading I increased vitamin E through organic wheat germ oil (the only form I seem to be able to tolerate, by Standard Process) and increased my DHA intake (Nordic Naturals brand) and got real results.

Great book!
Helpful information! Like most women my age I started having strange symptoms that I was told were nothing. After reading some books and listening to some podcasts I realized I am in perimenopause. This book had some good information in it. It was easy to understand and gave some helpful tips. I recommend any woman over 40 who thinks she might be in menopause read this book.

About Half
The first part of the book is informative and helped me to understand what I was experiencing, especially the mind fog and forgetfulness that were really causing me concern. The second half though was the same stuff you hear in every single health book--eat well, exercise, be positive and grateful, etc etc and etc again. Maybe my menopausal brain was pissed, but I just rolled my eyes. Really? This again? Felt patronizing.

Vital, accessible science-based guidance on menopause
I was fortunate to have an advance copy of this book. It is a wonderful book, and so vital. If you know anyone who is going through menopause, will someday go through menopause, or has gone through menopause, this book contains important information for them. And although it’s firmly grounded in science, it’s written in plain English. It is also a source of sensible, science-based guidance for anyone who wants to take care of their brain as they age. Want to lower your risk of dementia? Dr. Mosconi has the facts on how important cardiovascular fitness is (and it’s huge: the book cites a long-term study of about 200 midlife women that showed those with the most cardiovascular fitness had 30 percent lower risk of developing dementia than those who were sedentary.) Wondering what the relationship between menopause and the brain is, exactly? You’ve come to the right book. Worried about menopause? This book will explain why you have nothing to fear - while also explaining that your cognitive symptoms are both real and temporary. The book also devotes quite a bit of time to unpacking what your options are for treating bothersome symptoms. There’s even some surprising insight into (yes, really) the upside of menopause (post-menopausal women tend to be happier than younger women and also happier than their own younger selves). Anyway. If you care about your brain - whether menopause is or will be part of your life or not - you should read this book.
