I do not have carpet but wheels are smooth for me on tile and wood floor and stand is very sturdy. I love this item

Q: Will it tip over easily?

We have found it to be very stable. A 50 inch TV is mounted to it. It rolls easily, does not try and tip in any way. The weight seems to be balanced just in front of the mounting pole and the longer front legs extend at just the right angle. We have spun it around, and it does not unbalance. The TV is moved weekly by a number of different people and never had an issue.
