Actually works - bit surprised about that
I wasn't expecting much from this tea. I'd tried Valerian root tablets in the past without much success, but I was getting a bit desperate as I had been struggling for weeks to fall asleep and stay asleep, so I was willing to give this a try. The tea itself was not unpleasant. There is a faint whizz of cheesy sock smell about it, but that's what Valerian root smells like, so I was expecting it and it didn't put me off. The taste is not strong, even though I left the tea bag stewing in the water and a few times I even double bagged it. For me, the big surprise was how I started to fall asleep more easily and although I still woke up some nights after about four hours or so - I was able to fall back to sleep much quicker than before.A couple of other effects I observed:- although I was drinking a mug of liquid an hour before bedtime, this didn't seem to affect my, erm... how do I put this ... bathroom habits. I didn't find myself waking up in need (female here BTW, 54 years old which has some bearing on the issue) and- although I was expecting some grogginess in the morning, I didn't notice any in particular (except when I double bagged my tea). In fact, I have felt more groggy after taking Piriton (anti-histamine) at night - so that was good.Overall very pleased with this tea and still quite surprised that it seems to have worked for me.

Great for sleep aid
The smell is a little funky but the taste is all okay. Works so well. Been sleeping way better. Also try Reishi Mushroom extract and magnesium if you have trouble getting deep sleep. But this Valerian root tea is tops shelf even on its own.Cut of tea before bed and I'm yawning my way to a deep sleep.Definitely worth it. You get used to the smell and it's not that strong as some might say.

Helps me to sleep
The taste is subtle and not unpleasant. I do have a lot of problems both getting to sleep & staying asleep. These tea bags don't completely work for me so I take a further Valerian Root tablet with my Valerian tea bag & most nights that works for me so I enjoy a reasonable sleep. Unfortunately, Valerian doesn't always work so if I could find a stronger tea bag I would probably buy that instead. I do think it is quite pricey for 15 tea bags, however I enjoy the drink at night time so I will be buying a 2nd box.
