I have been wanting to try making paint with indigo for a long time now, but I couldn't find any plants locally. So, I decided to try to find some powder online. This powder works really well for making paint. It's a fine enough powder that I don't have to grind it much. I make watercolors with it using clove oil and gum arabic. The paint creates rich colors!

It is very important to do some research and watch some tutorials before using this Indigo powder on your hair or fabric! This The Wellness Shop Indigo Powder is a very finely ground, pure indigo that comes in a well sealed pouch inside another ziplock pouch. It is green (as all ground indigo leaf is), smells very green, and when mixed with water, makes an intensely green liquid or paste. Traditionally this is used on hair AFTER dying your hair with henna. Used over henna, it will produce various deep browns or black. If you use this alone on your hair (especially if your hair is blonde) you will dye your hair a light green that will turn a blueish gray as it oxidizes over a couple days. It will not produce vibrant or deep blues in your hair. The claim that this will “reveal your transformed dark bluish hair color,” a bit misleading. So please be careful and do some research before using! As long as you know what you are doing, this is a very nice pure Indigo Powder.
