Cute farming game
I’ve always loved the harvest moon series. I do find the beginning a little slow but I do love the open world concept that they are trying to get into. Overall a great game

Fantastic game
I have played Harvest Moon since the 2000’s. I’ve always loved these games as well as Story of Seasons. This new addition brings features others lacks including 360 camera movement, faster loading screens, smart tool usage, lots of home storage from the start, ability to remove things from shipment box if accidentally added, quick crop maintenance by holding the action button, massive world, good storyline. All around I would say this is one of the greats of the series (Including SoS)

It's pretty, but it doesn't feel like Harvest Moon
I have been playing Harvest Moon games since the SNES game was released... yes, I'm that old.One of the things that Harvest Moon games have been great about has been their ability to allow the player to immerse oneself into the rehabilitation of a farm and grow your town's reputation. The games in the past were repetitive, but they didn't really need much of a degree to know how to be successful. This game is beautiful, compared to the other HM games. It was one of the first to be released on all platforms, which I appreciate, but I still bought it for Nintendo (because the Switch is also a handheld system). The world is immense, again compared to the previous HM games, and there is a ton of things to explore. Here's where the game starts to change from tradition. This world has multiple biomes, and you can move where your home is as you explore the world (at the sacrifice of a day in game), this is a cool mechanic... except, that your crops do not move with you. In this game, gone are the days of having large crops, you have small sections of plots that are sprinkled around the different regions of the world. Fortunately, you can quick travel, because that would suck having to hoof it up to the top of the map every day. Since there are multiple biomes, they have added a mutation effect for crops. You are no longer limited by season on which crops you can plant, they make it so that different conditions can create different mutations to the crops. I've played for quite a while now and I have not yet found a singular shop that carries more than a couple seeds, you will need to get used to searching for sprites around the world to obtain most your seeds. There is no singular town where you can shop for your potential spouses, you have two options in each of the 4 towns, and from what I can gather, gender does not matter for selections. Befriending people and animals is simpler... probably because the game has so many other things to do (the to do missions are never ending). I have not yet focused on the relationships aspect of the game, because I've spent the majority of the 1st year in game trying to unlock all the towns. As per the theme with HM games, the days are too short, and time does not stop while you are inside like in previous games.Animal husbandry. Most the animals you can find and domesticate on the map without ever having to purchase in the store, I appreciate this, because money making is not easy in this... nor is getting enough food for your animals. Pet food is 50g/serving in the store, which can easily be 1 crop item sold... prices are high to buy, but low to sell. The fortunate thing is that if you are able to be resourceful and save all you find, you can forage for most the supplies you need in the world, either by exploring and using the search feature on the map, or by completing the "to-do" missions. The game has a few bugs, but none are game-breaking. I do enjoy the game, it's pretty and relaxing, but it is not like the other HM games, but maybe that's a good thing in the end. We can only marry a girl named Marie, Popuri, or Karen so many times before it gets a bit redundant.

Fun
It's a fun game. A lot to explore and find. I love that you can unlock locations on the map. An your not just stuck in one location but can to travel and move your farm to other areas. Once you figure out how mining I the game works, your golden.

Best New Harvest Moon Game
Absolutely love this game. It has an open map which is huge! Different functions that make the game very accessible for a large open map world. Nostalgia for other functions that show the game was made for it's fans.
