Perfect fit for my older Craftsman
I got this for my aging 24 year old Craftsman garage door opener; the sprocket finally wore out and it was down for the count. It fit my opener as advertised. The parts in this kit are quality made, and the instructions are very easy to follow. I had it replaced in no time with no problems. It was one of my rare projects where I didn't end up cussing through the whole process! The opener works great again.IMPORTANT NOTE: the screw holes on the round mounting plate ARE NOT THREADED. You need to hand screw in the screws to create the threads before you attempt to mount it (or use a tap).

A+
The hardware is great. I noticed that a diagram in the instructions didn't match my particular unit, but it was no problem. Just pay attention to how yours is assembled and copy that. The parts all fit perfectly, and now the unit works again.

Perfect kit
Perfect replacement kit. Had my sprocket assembly replaced in 30 min, no issues.

Poor Fit
It was very difficult to install the worm gear on the motor shaft. Instructions not clear enough about restarting the opener as a result the door jammed, and the motor burned up. New opener was required.

Have a Lift Master 41AC050-1? Beware!
These parts were struggle to assemble on the motor shaft. The drawings that are meant to illustrate the direction text aren't helpful because they are minimalist and in need of dimensional descriptions to be helpful. The drawings tell me I should have received an "O" ring ,a spacer, And a "C" clip. I received a washer which can't be proven to be a spacer but there is no mention of including a washer. I didn't receive the "O"ring or the "C" clip. There was no "O"ring or "C" clip on the opener in need of repair. With the motor shaft all the way rearward and against the gear bracket the remaining shaft gets a spacer(?), a thrust bushing, and a collar with set screws to keep all in the proper operating relationship. If the shaft on the other side of the thrust bushing is divided into 3 parts, I found the first third of travel toward the thrust bushing very difficult to accept the collar. The mid third was a loose fit and the final third to set against the thrust bushing flange was a bitch of another kind. Very difficult to put together without a press that can be lifted to fit the motor shaft still suspended from the garage ceiling. In addition, the web address for a "how to assemble" video has been pulled for copyright controversy and the instructions urging to telephone if the installation encounters difficulty would be more help if the telephone number was printed somewhere in the directions. Evidently no proofreading before publication.I installed the worm gear and the sprocket drive gear but t if I follow the directions the rotational collar that fits onto the end of the motor shaft is too far out and doesn't work. That means there is nothing to tell the door when to stop. I removed the flat washer, the wrinkle washer, and the chamfer washer leaving only the lock collar and the rotational end cap and it works but with an intermittent thump as the door is moved in either direction. This kit is supposed to fit my door according to the fit statement in the product description but given the regular thump and running out of motor end shaft I believe the worm gear is longer than a proper fit. If you have the Lift Master 41AC050-1 as I do I would not purchase this kit. I wish I hadn't.
