The game board is very well made and attractive. My husband and I enjoy playing on this two player board. The marble colors are easily recognizable. It’s great value for the price.

My son and I battle Chinese Checkers every summer. Last summer, somehow, some pieces were lost. I found this perfect because we only played. I am AMAZED at how high-quality the game was. The wood is very thick, and the brass stopper that holds the balls on the side so they don't get lost is durable. I had ordered a regular board with this because I wanted to know if we would like it. We loved this one so much that we returned the other one.

Like it much because usually I have only 2 players. I like that board is wooden!!

I really wanted to love this product, as I enjoy playing the Chinese checker game, and I am also a passionate hobby woodworker. Having created numerous small woodcraft projects and pieces of furniture myself, I can't help but view the product from a woodworker's perspective. And that's when you start noticing all the lack of attention to detail in the crafting process of this project. It's a shame, because I genuinely believe that it's a well-designed product in many aspects.The board is composed of 5 pieces of walnut that are edge-jointed together. Walnut is a favorite wood among many woodworkers, thanks to its rich and dark color. However, walnut pieces often exhibit pronounced color variations. This is why when edge-jointing boards, it's crucial to pay attention to color and pattern variations, especially for walnut, in order to achieve a more natural and consistent joint pattern and to avoid abrupt color changes. Otherwise, the joint lines become very conspicuous and unsightful. Unfortunately, this is exactly where the product falls short.I had two of these products, as I was dissatisfied with the first unit I received and requested a replacement. To my disappointment, the replacement was even worse. In the case of the first unit, the abrupt color changes across different pieces (as well as the grain patterns) resulted in two very distinct joint lines - one between the first and second pieces from the top, and another between the 3rd and 4th pieces. The board never appears as a cohesive piece. Despite my appreciation for the color and finish, the board itself doesn't convey a sense of coherence and unity.The replacement I received was an even greater disappointment. One of the walnut pieces was almost entirely sapwood, exhibiting a completely different yellowish-white color, while the transition area into the sapwood featured many black parts. Coupled with the highly noticeable and randomly oriented grain patterns of these pieces, it completely undermines the overall aesthetics of the board. At that point, there's no need to delve any further.Overall, I truly appreciate the concept of the product. However, the manufacturer really needs to allocate more attention to the details. It had the potential to be a significantly better and more elegant product if the craftsman had paid closer attention to the color and pattern variations across different pieces during the wood selection and jointing process.

The game is beautifully made, definitely a show piece. It has a perfect sized playing field enough so that adjacent marbles are not easily bumped while moving.Thanks Vamslove. Please consider making a backgammon set. Not too expensive though.. Haha

This is the sort of thing you can leave out on display and readily available for your next game. It's truly gorgeous. Everything about this game is high quality from the board itself to the marbles to the ingenious channels designed to hold the marbles when they aren't in use. It's practically a work of art. Great for a couple that doesn't want or need a multi-player board.

It's been years since I've played Chinese Checkers. But I remember really enjoying the game when I was a kid. When I saw this listing with the walnut game board, I was inspired to give it try, bring back a little of my childhood. It's a two-person game, perfect for my husband and me.I think this is a beautifully-made wooden game board. It's surface is smooth and has no rough places, and the marble divots on the top of the board are evenly created. There is a lovely minimalist finish that brings out the grain of the wood, a pleasure to play on. There are blue and yellow marbles which are cleverly stored in a bored out channel on opposing sides of the board. And the marbles, when not in use, are held in place with a metal plug. I comes with instructions. The whole presentation is classey.This Chinese checkers game would make a great gift for anyone who enjoys board games. Best of all, it's for all ages, probably starting around seven, and it's small enough to travel with. Recommended.
