Excellent System
I’ve had this system for almost a month. I love everything about it. I wanted a system I could monitor my self, without paying a company to watch it for me. It notifies me when movement or sound it detected. It texts, calls, and emails when there is a door open or motion sets off the alarm. It’s amazing. The only problem was, I just got the iPhone X and I guess the app wasn’t 100% compatible when setting it up. But I set it all up from my iPad and now everything works on my phone. So it’s 100% now. It was just a small bump in the road. But it works great now. I can monitor it from my phone and even arm and disarm from my Apple Watch. So this system is great for me. I did add 2 more cameras. The actual iSmart website offered a great holiday deal on 2 spot cameras so I bought them. So I will recommend this system to friends and family. 10 out of 10

First impression
So I purchased this system after extensive research. In the end for my personal needs I was down to simpli safe and the iSmart. I chose iSmartAlarm simply because of the included push notifications and smart phone control (which simpli safe does not include unless you pay $25 a month). I did not want a month subscription and the iSmart made it a great budget decision. And as a bonus it was $100 cheaper and included a camera for the bundle I chose.Setup was painless. As other reviewers noted all my contact sensors first appeared to have low battery life but I found after a half hour or so all of them showed full battery life.Camera - first impression it’s okay. I don’t feel like I will really benefit from it. I currently have it pointed out my window into the driveway. It’s picking up cars and kids walking home from school so it seems to have a good range. Idk how I will use it in the future but for now I’m not super impressed. The volume and two way talk feature is disappointing.Motion sensor- I’m pretty disappointed in this add on. I have it in my attached garage and it doesn’t detect motion great in the dark, I have to be right next to it for it to go off. My 100lb lab sets it off, and it waits u til someone is literally at my door before the alarm is triggered. I can’t see myself relying on this.Contact sensors - awesome! Work great! Not much more to say than that they work as they should. Also should note that if the alarm is on and they are opened, even if they are shut immediately the alarm will still trigger. If someone makes it in your door and quick shuts it the alarm will still go off. Nice to know.Overall I’m happy with what I paid, we have been having some shady stuff happening in my neighborhood. Kids stealing stuff out of cars and destroying mailboxes, but I wanted my home protected in case anyone tries to get too big for their britches. I’ll update my review if anything change, I’m planning on purchasing more contacts and the key pad for easier enabling and disabling.

Close...but no cigar
Update #2. Taking another star off. I can't stand getting 3 dozen false alarm notifications per day/night while I can walk right infront of the camera and the motion detection doesn't trigger/record video or set off the siren. There are times I forget to disarm the system and pass within 4 feet of the camera and don't get a notification. The system also hangs up and I have to wait 5 minutes to arm/disarm. This could have been such an awesome product and maybe it will be someday after a SW update, but right now it just doesn't function well enough.Update/ After exchanging 20 emails with customer service, I returned the camera. The replacement camera had the same issue - on the highest sensitivity setting, it would only detect from about 8 feet away. This makes it pretty useless, at least in the layout in my house. I suspect there's a SW bug which keeps in low sensitivity mode even though the apps shows high sensitivity (as the sensitivity doesn't seem to actually change when the setting changes). I'm going to keep the camera which came with this package because I'm past the return deadline. But I returned the cameras which I was going to use to expand the system. I'll go with a nest or canary for video while using ismart for motion/door alarms. Stinks to have to use two systems/two apps. iSmart was SO CLOSE to being a great all in one system - but unreliable motion detection on the camera is dealbreaker since it doesn't record anything without detection. Hopefully they will get their SW fixed sometime in the future.--------------After tons of research, I bought this system and we have been using it for two week. Overall, it's a great value, though it does have a few shortcomings.Pros:1) Free cloud storage. No expensive monitoring fees.2) The cost is amazing for what you get.3) The app appears secure and the system was rated very highly for app/router security. There are a lot of other companies out there who are associated with the Chinese government whose cameras have (intentional?) security holes which allow someone to take control of the camera in your house; or even worse, your router.4) One of the few systems out there (for much less than $600) which has cameras combined with door sensors and motion detectors. The diversity of sensors makes it difficult to get in without being detected. Private areas such as a bedroom or shower can be monitored with a motion detector which doesn't record or upload sound or video.5) Very expandable system which integrates with IFTTT. This allows for things like using a Geofence to automatically disarm/arm the system.6) Will notify you if power/internet is lost (like if thief cuts a cord before breaking in). This feature needs some additional flexibility though as routine short dropout of your internet also generates a (false) notification.Cons:1) Only 30 ten second clips are stored in the cloud. Normally this wouldn't be an issue except that if you enable the siren and sound detection, the system will continuously "detect a sound" due to its own siren, trigger the siren again and chew up your 30 free clips. It then overwrites the 30 clips potentially deleting the video of an actual intruder. The work around is to disable sound detection from triggering the siren (have it push a silent alert instead). If someone was in your house a long time, it would overwrite clips and if they know a lot about how the alarm system works they could wave something in front of the cameras 30 times to erase the evidence I suppose (this seems unlikely).2) One of the door sensors and one of the motion detectors wouldn't connect initially. Minor inconvenience normally, but we had a break in and I was trying to get this system up and running in a single evening. Took a few days of emailing customer support to resolve.3) Customer service is very poor. Email only and with a day or two delay each communication. I had three problems I needed help with. Two of the problems were resolved and the third one was not. Support just stopped responding to my emails and the third issue (Con #4) was never resolved.4) The 3rd problem was the detection range on the spot camera is about 10feet even on high sensitivity (20 feet advertised). Customer support just started ignoring me about this issue. In combination with issue 5), this makes the system less than foolproof.5) The camera doesn't push an alert for ~30seconds after motion is detected. If power or internet is disabled during that time, the alert never makes it out. This would not be much of an issue if the detection ranges were high so you could position the cameras out of reach, but in combination with problem 4), this means the camera has be positioned close to somewhere the intruder will pass and there is some chance the intruder could find and disable the camera in time. The price of the system is low enough that some extra sensors or camera for redundancy can solve the issue in a cost effective way.6) The app doesn't allow for multiple phone numbers/emails or for two users to be signed into the system. This is annoying as my wife and I have to sign each other out to disable/arm/check. Hopefully a future SW update will fix this.7) Major false advertising on the built in siren. Definitely not 110dB - maybe 90dB?8) Will notify you if power/internet is lost (like if thief cuts a cord before breaking in). This feature needs some additional flexibility though as a routine second long dropout of your internet also generates a (false) notifications.
