Bright Spark CAMPING TOASTER FOR PORTABLE GAS STOVES

We bought one of these for use in our camper van. It works really well and toasts bread, crumpets and lots of other things that you'd use an electric toaster for, but it can run at a higher temperature so it crisps rather than dries out. This means that it makes toasted things nicer. So good in fact, we have actually brought on for use on the gas rings in our kitchen. Buy the stainless steel version if you plan to use it frequently as the other version corrodes over time. The only down side is the toasting area isn't very big so you can only do a single slice of bread at a time, but other than that, it's brilliant!

Saw a version of this being used on a youtube video, but wasn't sure it would work that well - however it works brilliantly, saves us weight and space in the caravan, and we can nicely toast up a couple of big bread slices, or 3 crumpets. Cooks them very fast though, so constant diligence needed to avoid burning! Packs away neatly, highly recommended

It does the job but you do need to keep the toast moving or it will burn on the edges. Was a bit smelly to start - I think when some of the coating burnt off but this did not alter the taste of the toast in any way. If you are out camping and have limited space but do have a gas ring, give it a go!

We've have used this device regularly since its purchase on Amazon. Firstly I found it much cheaper in Go Outdoors. Secondly following a couple of uses the metal plates have distorted and the handle no longer folds in. Also have found that if you toast anything that sheds grains or currants etc they instantly go up in smoke and set of the smoke detector in our van. However, having said all that... it does effectively toast bread.

Good device. I use this in my camper van, though you could easily use this on an open fire or, on a gas stove. You need to remove the bread crumbs from between the 2 metal plates and the only adverse comment I would make, is that there should be an opening / slit left on one side so that you can simply tip the crumbs out, rather than turn the toaster over and shake repeatedly till all debris is removed.

I haven't actually used this for camping yet, but I had some crumpets that were too thick for my toaster so I tried with the camping toaster on the gas hob and it worked very well (although perhaps not as fast as a traditional toaster) I was a bit nervous of the metal handle, but it didn't heat up too much and was safe to remove from the heat. I have bought another to give to a friend and will be using it whilst camping all of next summer!

Made perfect toast , just turn the gas up or down depending how you like your toast.

The size is suited to smaller slices but it worked a lot better than I thought it would,.
