Great unit!
Our old A/C unit went out and we were looking for a cheaper option for cooling/heating. I worked HVAC about 10 years ago, and we put in a ton of the Mitsubishi units, so I knew these little mini splits were good.Having said that, this thing is awesome. Install was smooth, build quality is great. Haven’t 100% figured out the remote yet, but it’s not complicated and the iOS app works pretty good. Has a glitch where it will make you log in again, but works well enough to do what it need to. Hooking it up to wifi went well.We put it in our master bedroom, and it is easily cooling/heating that, the dining room, and the kitchen. We haven’t hit summer yet, so we’ll see how it keeps up then, but these 85 degree days has been a breeze for it so far.It comes in 3 boxes on a pallet, the condenser, the indoor head unit, and the third smaller is the lines, control wire, and drain hose.To keep the drain level I ran the hose in 1 inch pvc across the wall so I could get the right slope, otherwise the hose is pretty flimsy, not bad quality, just not what you’d need for a horizontal run. I had about 10 ft across my garage wall I needed to go, and it’s important with these that they drain well or you’ll get moisture under the indoor unit. Something to keep in mind. One side of the condenser has the fan and fan shroud, the other side has very little protection for the fins. The only con I can come up with is I wish it had a little more protection for that side. Not as big of problem when you face that side to the side of your house/building, but again, something to consider when installing. The indoor unit is quiet, works well, blows very hot and very cold.At the time of writing this it’s definitely a 5*. If I run into any issues with it I will come back and update this, but feel confident you’re getting a great piece of equipment!

Efficient
I’m an hvac technician with my own company and I deal with every brand. Obviously Mitsubishi is in its own class, but these cooper and hunter mini splits are super efficient, the install kit comes with everything, and installation is relatively easy. And for 700$ for a 9k Btu system that’s a great price.

Great unit.
It works great. I would definitely buy it again if I needed another one.

Good unit, remote leaves a little to be desired.
I installed this in my garage and it keeps it comfortable to work in. I can’t comment on longevity, if I have problems in the future I will update. Easy to install if you have the right tools and a vacuum pump. The only issue I have is the remote doesn’t work the best. I have to turn the unit off to change the temp settings. It won’t change the temp settings with the unit running as it should. It would be better if there were a manual control on the head unit.Overall, it does the job.

Easily the best bang for the buck
This is my 2nd CH system, the first is over 4 years old and still runs great. This system is even better because of the inverter technology it runs super quiet and heats like a champ. The coldest temp so far was 9 degrees F, and it worked great. Just purchased a 3rd CH system.

Best value
This is the second Cooper and Hunter I've purchased from Amazon and installed. It's kind of lame having to give up the warranty, but for the price you pay and the longevity - I have one unit that has been working solidly for 2 years - it's well worth it.This unit in particular absolutely crushes it. It's hard to believe the BTU rating is what it says it is, this will heat or cool 20' x 15' x 16' (yes, 16' ceiling) room in absolutely no time at all, installed only a foot below the ceiling. We live in Vermont. It can be bloody cold. Having a unit mounted that high and heating the room in no time is ridiculous. We haven't gotten below zero outside yet this year but at 5° f It absolutely crushes it. It almost makes me regret how much I spent on my daughter Hyper Heat variant.I don't think I will ever buy a different brand mini split.

Warranty useless & Amazon dosent care
I brought an 18 BYTU 230-volt system for my garage rec room, mainly for heat in the cold months. When it arrived, I called them with a few questions, including how the warranty works. I was told they will only warrant the unit is installed by licensed HVAC installer. As a contractor myself I understand that homeowners can screw things up and blame the manufacture. So, I contacted one of HVAC companies I used in the past who said he could do it but not until November, I knew my return window would be after his availability so called Cooper hunter back to return the unit since I couldn’t get it installed before the return window closes. They agent said don’t worry they took down the serial number and said as long as it’s installed by a Licensed HVAC company they would stand behind the unit for any issues and for me to call in when its installed and activate the warranty., We had it installed on November 7th 2024 note it was in the upper 50s at night tested unit and heat worked. I turned it off until the end of November when the temps started to drop into the upper 20s to mid-30s at night and set the unit at 65* didn’t pay too much attention but did noticed it sounded like a Mack truck when the compressor kicked on which would subsided after a few seconds and then notices a DF code would come on from time to time and was told this was a defrosting mode which is normal ??, but outside temp were in the lower 40S??? but I accepted this. Now less than a few weeks past and it started blowing out ice cold air when it was around 28 * I turned the unit off and back on. It seem to reset the issue, then it did this again and I called in and asked to speak to a tech and was told NO WE WILL NOT TALK TO A HOMEOWNER only a tech so I said do I get a tech or do you send one out, and was told they do not pay for labor or Diagnosis ??? And I would have to pay for this out of pocket??? Finally, she agreed to transfer me to a tech who stated it most likely a low refrigerant issue?? I stated they come pre charged? He inferred the units are sometimes undercharged from the factory appears to be a known issue, he also said it could be a defective compressor, but I would have to pay to have it addressed and they would only cover the parts no labor no refrigerant. The unit is brand new and now the labor cost to fix a defective unit could exceed the cost of the unit. When I contacted Amazon and went all the way up the chain of for assistance each time no help and refused to assist me in to reach out to the seller or Cooper Hunter stating they only step in to support their sellers not their customers, WOW I said Jeff Bezos can spend billions od dollars to build rockets but tells is customers that his sellers are more important than the customers who buy on Amazon when they asked for assistance , this Supervisor name was Hosch then accused me of using profanity and said he was ending the call – I said what profanity review the tape and stated I treated you with the utmost respect and because I Used Jeff Bezos in my conversation this is taboo he then got arrogant and said if that’s all he was disconnected the call which he did.Apparently using Jeff Bezos name is taboo and an option to end the call
