Heart & Sacrifice

All Heart, Worth The Sacrifice
No one can argue against the fact that Michael Sweet and George Lynch are two of the hardest working and most prolific Rockers on the scene today, even after all these decades of amazing musical accomplishments. And this, their third collaboration together, is a grand undertaking in and of itself. But when you consider that in 2023 George is scheduled to release an amazing 9 new albums and Michael has recently released and is on tour for an incredible new Stryper album, arguably their finest yet, amongst all his other projects as well, one has to wonder how these two great musicians find the time to fit it all in. Wonder, yes, but I for one am certainly thankful they are able to make it happen! This album kicks off with a bang with the blistering title track Heart & Sacrifice, clearly indicating this as an even more powerful album than their sophomore release Unified, and could even rival their initial release Only To Rise; only time will tell. The song showcases the fact and leaves no doubt that these two musicians are on top of their game and Masters of their craft. The album then slides into the heavy, groovy beat of Where I Have To Go, sure to be a favorite for many head bangers on this album. The energy keeps right up with Miracle, Leaving It All Behind and of course, You'll Never Be Alone, all of which were selected for pre-release to generate interest in this project and certainly set very high expectations for the rest of the album, which I would say were not only met but far exceeded. After All Is Said And Done then takes the album to a slower, more somber note, with an almost Country music twang to it, but certainly a rocker nonetheless worthy of George's immense musical chops, with Michael's lyrical magic worked flawlessly into it.The pace picks up again with Give Up The Night, a rocker definitely reminiscent of old Dokken. This song might well become a fan favorite as well as it has everything Lynch & Sweet fans love about these artists. Heavy steps up to bat next with the thumping of Will It Ever Change and cements this as the heaviest of their 3 releases to date. It's Time To Believe is another masterful hard rocker, my current favorite track, and by this time in listening to the album most fans will have come to the realization that this is a very special compilation indeed and will already be making plans to rotate Heart & Sacrifice into their regular listening routine for some time to come.Every Day keeps the energy flowing with more hard and heavy Lynch riffs and Sweet screams. It Rains Again picks up where Every Day leaves off and raises the intensity to the next level. After more listens, this could very well become one of my favorites on this album. The disc rounds out with the power ballad World Full Of Lies. Many bands seem to like putting a ballad or two on their albums, I know Michael is a huge fan of ballads, when they are done properly, as this one certainly is. Michael's voice is powerful, inspiring and on target here and is matched with George's soulful, melodic and exquisite picking. All in all this is a great song and a phenomenal, heartfelt way to end this truly epic album. If you're a fan of either of these two musicians, or both, I cannot recommend Heart & Sacrifice enough ... It is an exceptional work of art and a valuable addition to any music collection. Every song is killer, no filler.I know that after Unified was released there was some uncertainty as to whether there would be a third Sweet & Lynch collaboration. Heart & Sacrifice should certainly crush any uncertainty as to whether there will be a fourth chapter in this project: I am already looking forward to it!Great work guys!

Probably the best so far
This is the best George Lynch has been on a SL album. Michael sounds good but not as good as he has in the past. Lynch is playing Dokken & Lynch Mob like stuff here. It is a good album & worth the buy. I just like the original bands these guys come from better.

Michael/George Rock!!!
I just got through listening to my CD and as Simon Cowell says,"I didn't like it....I LOVED it!!! I've been a Stryper and Michael Sweet fan since 1985 and a Dokken and George Lynch fan since around 1987 and this album blew me away! Michael's singing is incredible as always, but George's Guitar playing is the best since the first few Dokken albums in the 1980s!π²ππΈ I loved this album as much as Michael Michaels other side project, the Sunbomb album, and I think even better! I know there's one or two haters reading this right now and saying"yeah right " and rolling their eyes but as the Stryper song"Free" says, you're Free to do what you want to, but I urge you to skip trying to listening to it on YouTube, and buy the CD,or borrow it from someone and listen to it through a loud high end System, and crank it up and I can tell you that after you hear it, you'll be running to click on the Pay now order button! My new favorite album! And get the Sunbomb CD if you don't have it already!βΊοΈπΈππβοΈ

Michael Sweet is my favorite.
This is a great cd. I have been a Stryper fan since the 80s. This is the third cd with George Lynch formerly of Dokken. I highly recommend anyone check this out. I play it all the time.

You know what...
Not ads bad as I expected. I like it better than the first. The guitar work reminds me of Sacred Groove album mixed with Lynch Mob. Now I'm not a big fan of Michael Sweet's style even though he has a great voice. His approach is too smooth for my liking. So with that said, it has some very good moments and some average. Nothing great but overall a good album. Enjoy.

The best of the three for me.
Will it ever change and It's time to believe are worth the price of admission alone. Michael Sweet gives a great performance.
