how do you open the knife ? just with the open hole sticking out when folded on blade ?

I wish I could help you but when I ordered it there was no knife included. Maybe cuz I live in nyc area and (I could be wrong) but I think it’s illegal to carry those. But I got a taser separately as extra protection.
