As a general rule, I don't like plastic or plastic ware in my house. With micro-plastics becoming a rising concern, anything I can do to reduce the amount of plastic in my household is a win. Previously, we used a small plastic 'spatter' cover in our microwave. It did its job, but was kind of small for our microwave. And it was plastic.Then I found this guy. Larger, roomier, and made from thick solid glass. The parts that look plastic are actually silicone, so they have quite a bit of heat resistance. It also looks like a finished piece of kitchen ware and not something that belongs in a recycle bin.It is a bit larger than the plastic unit we used before and will cover a large dinner plate without issue. The vent hole allows some water vapor to escape, keeping it from becoming a steamer. The glass surface is very easy to clean.Overall, this is a winner. It works like a champ, fits even larger-sized dishes, and looks like it belongs in a home (and not a recycle bin). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This works great for microwaving without plastic. Great for reheating. I bought the medium size and it fits standard Fiestaware plates about perfect, small plates/bowls it easily covers.And it also is NOT as a good popcorn bowl! That means my oldest kid won't keep take them to her room with popcorn or snacks in them to never be seen again!The only or biggest con is really cost, it is a little expensive but is well made and should last a long time.

Well made not heavy, does not slow down the cooking time ,the microwaves pass through the glass like it's not there it's also easy to clean.

Love this microwave plate cover! It's absolutely worth the money, especially too not to have microplastics in your food. It seems to warm food faster than the plastic covers as well. Highly recommend it.

It works well in the microwave and hopefully will reduce plastic particles in food.

My mom hates this because it is so heavy, but speaks to its quality. Trying to remove plastics from my life and this does the trick well

This is a great alternative to heating your food with a plastic cover over your meal. I feel this is a healthier approach. It's bulky, so know where you'll store it.The bowls or plates don't have to be fully under the dome. This is a great idea.Bought two different sizes. Recommend!
