The plus one - no issues on macro
A great add on to my Ricoh GR 3. I was refusing to use the Ricoh ever since I got it ten days ago because I wanted a cover for that lens - had damaged my Sony rx100 a few years ago and ever since I’ve had one for all my cameras (you can see my Fuji x100F has it too. I was tentative at the time of purchase wondering whether I will have problems of the lens hitting the filter in macro mode but no such issues. The build quality is super, it doesn’t add much bulk, clicks on very secure. This one and my camera are going to be lifelong friends. Hope this review helps. Cheers

Better than the GA-2 by a mile!
Excellent build quality compared to the GA-2, Ricoh’s own adapter. The GA-2 is made of super lightweight plastic, and there is quite a bit of play and shake when using it as it doesn’t secure well to the camera. This JJC adapter however, is made of aluminum and is super solid, and feels secure. In addition, it does NOT trigger the crop mode, which the GA-2 does, so if you so choose you can use this with the GT-2 at 60mm (a true 1.5x) and full resolution. If you’d like to use the GT-2 at 75mm, simply enable the 50mm crop mode!I love the ability to choose, and it makes the GRIIIx even more versatile. The build is vastly superior to the Ricoh GA-2, at less than half the price. I highly recommend this to all users of the GRIIIx!

Fits the GR3X - Suggest securing it with a strip of gaffer tape
This filter adapter works with my GR3X, but is a bit loose. I secured it with a small strip of gaffer tape. When I don't need the filter adapter, I put the gaffer tape on the the adapter for future use. There are not many options at this price range, so I'll keep this filter adapter and use the gaffer tape work around. If you do not have gaffer tape you could use masking or regular tape to hold the filter on more securely.

Quality built
I had ordered the Ricoh branded one but mistakenly got the iii version and not the iiix. Fortunately for me, when I went to reorder the right one, I chose the JJC version. What a difference in quality and price. Do not waste your money on any other brand....this thing is perfect. Also, plastic on the Ricoh and Aluminum on the JJC.I am happy it worked out this way.

Disappointed That It Doesn't Pay Nice With JJC Lens Cap
This does a great job at provided a way to use filters, however it does not work with the lens cap made by the same company for the same camera. With a filter on, the lens cap is completely useless. With no filter, the items cap will go on, but it slides right off if you got the camera even slightly downward. This, to me, learns the utility of both products significantly. I would have thought companies designing parts that don't work together was a problem that was solved for good in the 70s. Guess I was wrong. If you only need to use this adapter/hood, it's great. If you (like me) want to use the adapter, a filter, AND the lens cap... Good luck.

Wobbly and loose
I have the official Ricoh lens adapter. I found it difficult to remove and figured I’d try the Jjc variant. I knew it didn’t lock on and that was a supposed to be an advantage. When this is on, it remains loose. The entire adapter rocks from side to side. I like that it uses the jjc lens cap, but won’t really be using this.
