Q: is the hat leather lined?

It has been a long time since I bought this hat - which I was dissatisfied with and sold-on. I didn't like the curled rim at the front and back edges and I was looking for a vintage hat where they are flattened out more - but that was just me being fussy! I'm pretty sure that it had a leather head-band inside - they always do - while the shell was lined with satin, as described.

Q: If my head is 58 1/2 cm which size should I buy ?

Large is approx to fit 59cm head

Q: What is the rim size for the bowler hat

Turned up edge/rim is approx 1cm, looking from the underneath the edge of the head space to the outer rim is about 25mm at the edges and 35mm front and back.

Q: Is the wool/felt over a structure within the hat or is it all stiff material. Anyone had a success steaming it adjust the fit. If so how

The stiffened felt shell is lined with a satin material and the inside of the rim has a leather sweat-band. I didn't do it with THIS hat, but I have successfully modified the shape of another, taller bowler hat I have using steam from a camping kettle heated in the stove. I played the part of the hat I wanted to modify in the steam for several seconds, then (wearing thermal gloves) I rounded-out the top more using a wooden darning-mushroom inside against my gloved hand outside. You won't be able to enlarge the head fit that way, as the leather band and the brim make it impossible to enlarge it, but you might be able to either widen or narrow the head aperture using this steam method.
