Great oil paint
This brand has the most fabulous colors. I think of the artists in the 1600 and 1700 hundreds. Poor darlings.

Using Burnt Umber
The dark brown shadows are burnt umber from the tube and the lighter brown is also a white tint. Day 17 and I added more bright Cadmium Barium Yellow Light and Radiant Turquoise highlights to the roofs, some Cadmium Orange and Burnt Umber to start making shingles, and some Cobalt Blue and Burnt Umber outlines under all the eaves and along the shadow sides of all the building trim, windows and doors. Four to five hours of work and you can hardly see the difference. :-) It is a good thing I enjoy it.Just a note...Burnt Umber is one of those paints that used straight from the tube will dry with a dull flat surface. That is one reason I mixed it with Cobalt Blue. The other reason is that shadows often seem to appear bluish or purplish. Hmmmm is purplish a word?

PAINT COMPLETELY SOLID IN TUBE.
BEWARE. I received this tube of paint in Feb and my husband tried to use it todayMarch 30 and the tube is dried solid and he can't get any paint out of the tube. The company says its a returnable item but when I tried to return it today as defective it states the return eligibility expired on March 9. Boy is that misleading and unfair. It is an expensive paint and he can't use it. I sure hope they read this and make good on it. If they don't I'll update and let you know that they are not reputable.
