As good as brewista
Coming from a Brewista, I was hesitant to try another kettle. My wife really wanted something different so we went with this one. It’s good.I would say between this and the brewista the performance is similar. The main difference being the aesthetic.I’ve seen some mention of the buttons etc. I don’t believe either device is complicated enough to be trouble for anyone with the ability to read.Only draw back to this kettle is placing it back on the heating element takes some getting used to. It’s seemingly lower than the middle of the platform and quite literally almost hugging the knob.If I come back and edit this review it’s because it didn’t hold up like the brewista. So far I would recommend it.

one of the best, if not THE BEST water kettle!
THIS is the best, simplest, temp memory, water heating and HEALTHY 100% stainless inner core kettle! Reviews showing that it lasts for years and years. Its simple heating element works much like an old stove coils with the added solid state thermometer thats very accurate. Im buying the smaller conical grinder next. It is 18/8 stainless meaning its healthy and no part of water touches anything but steel (no plastic).Kettle quality:high quality Design:solid design well built

5 years and still going strong
I purchased this in 2019 to start making pour overs at home and I have never been disappointed with its performance. The goods:It looks amazingHeats water up fastPour spout(contentious but it’s good for proper pour overs)Ergonomic, and feels good to use, feels premium..maybe besides the lidTemperature control is precise and the dial is satisfying to useEasy to cleanThe badThe lid, while not overtly bad could be better for how much you have to interface with it, and is prone to rust.If this thing breaks, you likely won’t hear much back from fellow about getting replacement parts. Repairability is bad here. Mine has been fine but have had to open the base to jiggle a wire once or twice when it refused to heat.Besides the lid and the fact that this likely won’t last as long as some other brands, particularly the bonavita, this is an ideal kettle. I have seen some complaints from people on a few things. Some valid some not:The top leaks. The intended use of the kettle is not for large amounts of water to be heated and transferred fast. There’s a mechanism in the kettle to slow the rate. If you tip the kettle to try and force it to pour faster you will make a mess. This is almost a feature of the kettle function more-so than an oversight. It doesn’t hold enough water. This is true enough if you plan on making coffee for a group or for two people that like large cups of coffee. If your primary purpose for the kettle is for multiple people the bonavita or a different larger kettle is probably more worth it or maybe look for a non gooseneck kettle.Pours too slow. This gooseneck kettle has a restrictive valve and by design is meant for very slow pours. If you’re looking to get this for hot water for your tea bags id look else where. This is a pour over centered kettle. What I believe to be the best use case for this kettle is pour over coffee which requires a slow pour rate. Somewhere around 4-8g a second, quite slow, which means the coffee I make tends to take 4 minutes to make. I have used it for gongfu style tea as well as just general hot water use but you’ll end up being disappointed with its flow rate for anything other than slow, controlled, bursts of coffee.

So glad I bought this kettle!
I’ve always been a stovetop kettle user, like most of us in the US, but a friend gave me a much cheaper electric kettle she got as a gift and didn’t want, and I was amazed at how much I loved it, but it had too much plastic that the billing water was exposed to, didn’t have the gooseneck I love, and it wasn’t exactly pretty to look at, so I started shopping around for a better one. I thought about this Fellow kettle for a very long time, did my research…watched a lot of videos, read tons of reviews, compared it with all the other kettles out there. I asked questions to the people who already had one. Finally made up my mind, then spent weeks struggling with the choice between pink and black, pink was around $30 more…eventually ordered pink, then worried I should have ordered black….Glad I got the pink. It’s not as bright as it looks in the photos, it’s a very soft and neutral pink, and goes well with my kitchen. It was extremely well packaged, nestled safely in the Fellow box it came in, plus two outer boxes. The kettle is very elegant, has a nice weight, it and looks and feels high quality. Simple to use, and very nice to look at. I would have preferred if the pink did NOT come with a wood handle, don’t really want to be bothered with the monthly buffing of mineral oil into the wood, but I suppose it’s not that big of a deal. I plugged it in, followed instructions for cleaning, and then made myself a big cup of green tea, for the first time ever at the appropriate water temperature….it was awesome, smooth and delicious, without the bitterness it often has when I just use boiling water from the stovetop. I’ve used it 5 times now, and have had none of the negatives I’ve seen mentioned in the reviews - it pours beautifully, and you have control over how much or how fast, and water or steam doesn’t bubble from the top like some reviews mention…though I haven’t filled it to the max line and probably never will. I hope it holds up well in the long term, in both looks and function. I plan on taking good care of it, treating it like the expensive piece of equipment it is.I’ll use it daily, for both tea and pour over coffee. At first I thought I would not have paid full price, I was able to use close to 100 of my points here on Amazon and that made it much more reasonable - but now that I have it and love it so much, I don’t know..maybe I would pay the full price! It really is a pleasure to use. If you can afford it, I definitely recommend this beautiful kettle!
