We have a lot of sediment and silt in our well water. I have been using these close to 10 years now, and I change them every 3 months. If I go too long, the silt gets past the filter and into the washing machine (that's where I notice it first).

Q: Will these filters fit the express water whole house filter hsg?they are also 4.5 x20 filters. Would like to use this gradiant sediment filter

Yes, the sediment filter will fit the 20 inch canister. That is a std size. It should go into the first position in a 3 canister setup.

Q: Can i replace a dgd-5005- 20 with this dgd-2501-20? what are the consequent's replace more often?

The DGD-2501-20 is designed to remove smaller particulate and is constructed of denser filter media than th DGD-5005-20, thus it my need to be replaced more often if the feed water quality has a higher volume of larger sized particulate.
