i cut the strip with really strong kitchen scissors.. its excellent stops the draft..

Q: Would screwing this onto a front door weaken the door at all? Just safety conscious!

My door is wooden . I glued and screwed, hope this helps.

Q: Can you fitted to a composite door?

We bought double sided tape and stuck it to the door frame.

Q: Would this be ok for a single sliding door?

Providing you put it on the side that faces outwards I. E. Not between the door and wall when it slides.
