Not as absorbent as a towel, they are quite thin, which makes them soak up spills easily. Wash well @ any temp, have not shrunk, very white, put my other white towels to shame which look positively dull in comparison.A good buy, tho no idea how long they will last. These terry nappies are great for laying on the changing mat so you're not putting the baby onto cold plastic, using while burping to catch any escaping milk and a host of other baby related uses. They've already been washed multiple times and look and feel as good as they did when they came out of the packet. They are ideal for the purpose I bought them for which is as a good sized 'mopping up' cloth for under baby's head or when taking off a disposable to catch anything before the new one goes on. You will need Nappy Nippas, or another type of nappy fastener. You will need boosters if you're going to use them for night time (won't need these until baby is bigger and sleeping longer at night), I made boosters from a folded muslin. You will need waterproof nappy covers too. You may want nappy liners when the baby gets bigger and produces more solid waste. The liner takes away most of the solid for flushing down the loo! Also a nappy bucket for soaking, and Napisan or some other soak detergent. At the time I worked out that I could kit myself out with reusable nappies for around £50 which is great if you're on a budget and also care about the environment, but I'm not going to lie, it's hard work. Some Local Authorities offer a voucher for buying reusable nappies and then offer a cleaning service. May be worth checking out! I've only used them as nappies so can't give you the answer you're looking for, however, as they are absorbent and strong I would imagine you could use them for cleaning with but they would be a bit too bulky to handle whole I would imagine, so you may have to cut them up which defeats the object so you may as well buy the proper cloths that are designed for cleaning purposes. They do however, mop up spills on carpets rather well as they are very absorbent."}}]}]}
