The lens cap size is 77 mm , so yes it should.

Q: Is it Fit in 17-40mm L ?

I believe it will fit. Filter size is 77mm. You should be able to see on the rim of the lens what size fits

Q: Will this fit the 18-55mm canon kit lens?

I do not have a 18-55mm lens so I cannot guarantee whether it would fit or not. Inside the cap it says 77mm with a sign against it, which I believe means diameter. it certainly fits my two lenses (24-105mm and 100-400mm). Hope that helps Richard L
