Q: What is "the minimum" ppd compared with the average ppd amout in general hairdyes?

Tints of Nature permanent hair colours use the maximum amount of natural ingredients and the minimum amount of chemicals possible to create a highly effective product. We only use synthetic raw materials where there’s no natural alternative.We use the lowest levels of pigment (PPDs) possible to colour the hair. Our average level of pigment is just 0.42% as opposed to the legal maximum in the EU of 4%.PPDs vd PTDsSome other companies claim their brands are ‘PPD-free’, safe to use and non-irritating. This can be misleading. For permanent hair colour they have to use PPD or PTD. If they’re using PTDs then these can still cause reactions.Here’s the science bit:If you have a permanent oxidative hair colour (uses peroxide), then it either uses PPD or PTD (2,5-Toluenediamine Sulphate).The problem is that the reactions to PTD are exactly the same as PPD; the toxicity is exactly the same and the warnings are exactly the same.The real issue is that to create the same colour with PTD you need at least 1½ times the concentration of PTD than of PPD.As an ethical manufacturer, we’re concerned that members of the public are being misled into thinking that somehow these ‘alternatives’ are safer and give the impression that skin allergy tests aren’t needed. Which is not the case!

Q: I am wasting half the product each time. Can you avoid wastage + the need to buy again by re-sealing bottles for next application, please?

I used the product for many years, whilst still dying my hair, and I used the same bottle several times over, quite successfully. I had long thick hair and maybe got three applications from one pack by mixing some of each bottle into a bowl (rough estimates re. amounts), stirring and applying to my hair with a dye brush. Saved on wastage and cost. Hope this helps.

It's a long time since I had it and can't remember if there was peroxide in it - but I bought it when I was having chemo because it said it was so natural. It wasn't. I couldn't use it
