This fit my Pace 6x12 enclosed equipment trailer perfectly. Original plastic vent lid was damaged by hail. Decided to replace with a metal lid. Happy customer!

If you live in a sunny area like I do, the plastic ones will degrade, get brittle and eventually crumble and blow off. I sure don't need that to worry about! Good price, and it will last a lifetime. It is made of steel sheet metal, so it is sturdy. Edges are sharp, but not after going over them quickly with a stone. It's not galvanized except for the hinge, so you'll want to paint it so it doesn't rust. But you'll want to paint it (e.g. white) anyway so it doesn't get so hot in the sun. White paint makes a huge difference on the temperature of metal in the sun! Nice and cool.

Ordered this to replace the deteriorated plastic roof vent on my 2017 enclosed trailer. I have lights inside so didn't need the ambient sunlight anyway. Should last as long as the trailer now. The replacement was easy until installing the lift arm friction clip. I didn't take any measurements, but the lift arm slot on my original lid was obviously not quite the same as the replacement. With the friction clip installed like it came off, it would not allow the peg on the arm to line up in the slot. The clip was hitting the top of the bracket in the vent cover. Don't know if this is a manufacturing issue, or the fact that this is not truly a universal fit. I had 2 options....either grind a 1/16th from the top of the clip, or come up with something different. I fashioned a leather washer to act as the friction clip making for a much smoother lifting operation.

The old vent lid was plastic, which was always getting cracked. This also takes a little more tightening than does the plastice. Just a better solution all the way around, however, did require and little fabrication so be sure of your hinge type.

I replaced the old roof vent on my trailer with one in no time. Perfect fit with no complaints.

The transparent vents supplied by most vendors degrade quickly in sunlight. There's no excuse. There are plenty of good UV resistent plastics. Got rid of all of them and replaced them with these metal ones. They don't let light through but they will never break down and allow water to get in.

In Alaska the plastic shields don’t last but 1 year. These are built exactly like I like. Very heavy duty. Should of swapped these out sooner.
