Great factory replacement.
Exact fit for a 1996 150HP Evinrude V6 outboard. And at the price and fast/free shipping, this was better solution than ordering from an OMC warehouse. My other starter solenoid went out, which is understandable as it was the original 20 year old part. The installation for the new part was fast - 15 minutes to complete - and the starter worked flawlessly as soon as this was installed. This has only been installed for one week, and started the motor maybe two dozen times. So far I don't see any issues at all. If this fails within a couple of years, I'll update the review.

Good buy
Came with the starter. Easy to install and also a perfect match!

Mind boggling!
It's hard to install with those little tiny screws and no room to turn a wrench, but this is made worse by the mounting system Evinrude gave me on my 70 hp outboard. I was amazed at the price and by the fact you can still get it by typing in the model number of my 1970's vintage Evinrude 70 hp outboard. How is this possible? It boggles my mind. My marine mechanic shop would have charged me at least 4x the price, plus $100 to install it. The install was not easy because of the tiny parts and no room to turn a wrench, but even so, I would do it again to save that much money.

Highly Recommended.
Just like the OEM unit. Turns out I didn't need to replace the Solenoid after all. Using this on a 1992 Johnson 140 V4. The problem was that my main negative cable had been sliced before it entered the engine cowling some years ago. That splice had severely corroded over the years and was not passing the full current to the solenoid. Because of that the engine really bogged to start, gear would not disengage from flywheel, sometime just kill the battery trying to start the motor. After replacing the Main Switch, Solenoid, and Starter I finally found the real problem. The corroded splice in the negative cable. Maybe 3 strands of 2 gauge was all that was left. So I put a new splice in and voila!!! I left this Solenoid installed as it feels good having a brand new one. This old Johnny starts immediately now like a new engine.

it worked great for cranking the few times I did
was a close to exact replacement for my 88 evinrude 115hp , it worked great for cranking the few times I did, then removed it and all other parts to paint the block , when putting back on I was tightening down the positive lead and the plastic cracked right off ( was using a 3/8th hand ratchet , not very much force was applied ) so I gave it 3 stars for working initially and took took stars away for being so cheaply made and breaking so easily. So if you are careful with it , it will work fine for you , I just suggest leaving it alone once you get it installed.

Don't worry about the bad reviews.. product is fine!
Im thinking all the bad reviews were from people who don't know what they are doing. I just received the solenoid installed it...no problems... I don't understand how anyone could crack this thing unless they cranked down on the nuts with a breaking bar🤔One wrench on the bottom nut one on the top and make it snug. I would by this product again I see no reason not to.
