Rinnai EX22DTWN Direct Vent Wall Furnace, Indoor Natural Gas Heater, Energy Efficient Space Heater, 21,500 BTU, White

We needed a modern styled, direct vent heater for a 450 sq-ft four season room. One that could be safely vented thru an existing plexiglass window. We found it with this “Rinnai Unit”.Installation instructions were clear, straight forward. The unit is well-constructed, easily serviced with any possible replacement/service parts available online. It has received many compliments on its performance from dinner guests on its exceptionally high heat output and its quite operation.Its automatic variable heat output based on the rooms heating needs, its ease of programing two independent time/temperatures and being able to program it to maintain a minimum room temp just makes a well thought out design and top-of-the-line unit.

This is my third Rinnai Direct-Vent heater and I really like and appreciate the venting system these heaters use. No chimney to install up through the roof. A three inch hole saw right through the exterior wall is all you need. I've installed two through exterior vinyl siding and one through concrete block and it's fast and easy. This one is in a 24ft x 24ft detached garage and with the outside temp at 37F and an inside starting temp of 47F it had the inside temp up to 61F in an hour. My first Rinnai replaced an unvented gas heater, but those put out way to much water, and the inside windows and doors were always wet. The Rinnai Direct Vent Wall Furnace keeps my garage dry all winter, is very quiet, easy to install, takes up little floor space, and built-in thermostat/controller all work as advertised. Highly recommended!

This little heater heats my 600 sq, foot, well insulated home but I wouldn't recommend anything bigger.

First off I my GF500 was I thought the shiznit of heaters for our log house but little did I know this Rinnai was so much quieter and puts out an even heat without Turbo sound every cycle like the GF500. When I purchased the optional Rinnai kit for wall thermostat for $89 I can say this is the only heater I found that could do that. My NEST controls everything daily from turning it off at night and warming up in the morning to eco save when nobody is home, plus I can control it remotely so if I am gone can turn it up before I get home, or shut it off if I forget and it will always keep a safety temp to keep house from freezing. E-Faucets put it on sale a few weeks after I bought it for almost $400 less, I called them and they said within 30 days they would refund the difference. They did!!! I am so thrilled and install used the same pipes as my GF500 did so I had it installed in a few hours. I used a couple of floor tiles from Menards to set it on the carpet and it looks professional. AAAAA++++++!!!

It works great just a little noisy. Would highly recommend it.

Purchased this based on its specs and ability to warm a large living room with adjoining rooms. My unit is powered by Natural Gas and performs beyond my expectations. Totally happy with it, particularly its speed, noise level, and heating performance. Love the humidufier feature.Only complaint and that is to RINNAI is that it is hard to find a RINNAI PRO that does space heaters. Everyone I managed to find through their website was a RINNAI WATER heater PRO and refused to deal with this. The manual is thorough however and my handy man was able to install. I would have still preferred someone that installs more of those rather than having to figure it out.

So quiet. Nice features.I actually vented it into a utility room outside the heated conditioned space and then extended the exhaust vent through the exterior wall with stainless steel tubing ( 6 feet of 1.5" 304 SS tubing from Zoro cost ~$50 and its ID is 1 mm larger than the Rinnai exhaust pipe OD so its a pretty good slip fit for a tack weld or muffler clamp. The alternative would have been about $400 in Rinnai vent extensions ... I think Rinnai might want to rethink its direct vent furnace extensions. They are so complicated compared to direct vent furnaces that use regular PVC fittings, but I understand that the Rinnai exhaust temp is probably too high for PVC. But a simple factory approved adaptor to standard 1.5" SS 304 tubing would be nice. )
