Worked perfectly for an E70 BMW X5
I knew the moment I started recharging the system that this new compressor had solved the problem. Still going strong after 3K miles, we will see how it holds up in the long run. Pulled evap temperature down to 37 degree F. Tip for E70 BMW X5 owners... there are no Youtube videos showing how to install this as of August 2024. It is NOT for the faint of heart. The secrets are: Remove 3 of 4 shroud panels in the passenger side wheel well. You can now remove 2 of 3 bolts holding the AC using long socket extensions but you MUST use wobbly sockets or you will strip them (ask me how I know). Leave suction and discharge bolts alone until the 3 compressor mounting bolts are out unless you have a perfect angle on them... once the mounting bolts are removed you can turn the compressor slightly to provide straight on access to them. Remove front bumper (easy). Drain and remove radiator. Remove condenser. NOW, you can see the third bolt but it is covered by the thermostat. Sling a rope around thermostat, fish rope out the side of the wheel well and have someone gently pull it away while removing the third bolt. It is suspended by rubber hoses so you should be able to move it without causing damage. Installation is simply the reverse. Final note - remove condenser, radiator, and front bumper sounds extreme but you will thank me in the long run.
