Good Tool
I bought this tool to do my fall cleanup. It worked great for cutting down ornamental grasses and and other perennial plants. It starts well and I did not find anything it didn't cut. I saved hours and labor over cutting back plants with pruners.

Not Happy with purchase
The Box was not intact. When I open it the manual was wrapped around the pole extension making it hard to flaten out the pages to read. A screw fell out from who knows where when I was first handling it. It seems to run ruff. The shoulder strap keeps unhooking when I used it.Generally i am a fan of DeWalt quality but I am disappointed in this purchase.

not for lefthanded people
the muffler shield hits your arm when using it lefthanded, very hot , blade was dull , will only cut small stuff, doesnt wind up like most gas trimmers.

A hard to find piece of equipment
What my title means is this....If you search the internet you will soon learn that what is offered are string trimmers with an available brush cutter attachment.....for an additional price. If you already own a string trimmer you may find an attachment however the machine should be modified with additional hardware for safety and increased control. As for me I don't want to be bothered wasting time switching back and forth. I own a quality 4 stroke string trimmer...their 4 stroke brush cutter is way over the top in price. Therefore I opted to buy the only other brush cutter available out of the box.....this 2 stroke Dewalt. I hate dealing with gas oil mixes but my hands are tied. I haven't put it through its paces as yet...just dabbled to see if it functions. It seems to perform as advertised. I will tell you this......it is pretty loud. The only part that needs assembling is the handle. For some crazy reason I found it to be a real brain teaser with me screaming in my shop asking myself why I cannot complete such a simple task. Don't answer that.

This thing is a pos, can u make it any harder to put the f-ing handle on. Really? 😡
I haven’t even used it yet, because I’m so mad trying to put the handle on the stupid thing I threw it in the shed and need to calm down first. You need 4 hands to put the handle on it, I may just send it back if I have a hard time tomorrow with it. 😳
