Q: Can you use on a bathtub?

Sure you could use this on a tub, unless you were planning on actually using it to bathe in. Bathtubs have to be glazed. And even if this was just being used ornamentally this paint is thin and not easy to use.

Q: What type of primer is recommended?

I did not use any. Nice coverage

Q: Can this be used over a previous oil based paint?

I havent tried it on oil based paint, but it seems to me that it would adhere to anything. Put on first coat, walk away and let it dry, put on additional coats until coverage is good.
