Bought this for my Precision 7550. Power supply does not get hot, only warm.Update: 10/22Now my laptop does not recognize the power supply. Says it needs at least a 180w. Now charges super slow, almost worthless. Great for charging overnight.

This is not compatible with the Dell Precision 3240
This items charger port and the charger port on the Precision 3240 do not match. It's probably fine for one of the other models but not the 3240.
