The Acxico Jacob’s Ladder DIY Experiment Kit is a high-tension arc setup featuring a ZVS high voltage power supply. Designed for hands-on learning, this kit allows students to assemble their own Jacob's Ladder while ensuring safety with insulated components. Perfect for educational purposes, it operates on a 24V DC boost and requires a power switch of 150W or more.

Was shocked at how good it worked
The media could not be loaded. Don’t stop to review much but just had to share. No instructions BUT if you’re willing to do some searching around the internet you can work out the connections. The kit came with an extra wire that you’re meant to strip and use as the prongs for the Jacobs ladder. However, I wound up using some ceiling hanging wire instead. Also, purchased a 300 watt 24V power supply and a toggle switch. You have to tinker around with the prongs for a bit before getting the full ladder. Also bare in mind that any drafts will prematurely restart the “climb”… I still need to find a glass cover tall enough for mine. All in all this thing continues to put a smile on my face every time I see it.

Nice educative device. And working after 6 months.
The media could not be loaded. It works as described. As an educative device, some instructions would be useful for less experienced enthusiasts, but so far it does what it should. As advertised, it is built with leftovers, but it works.Update: it is still working and performing wonderfully. It was a full success in my presentation to the school. Still I would suggest adding instructions for the less electrically skilled.

It Just Doesn't Work
I bought two of these. The first one I didn't get a chance to work with until after the return deadline. My mistake... It didn't work straight out of the box. There are no instructions on connections, however it is pretty straight forward. Inputs for 12V to 24V DC with + and - terminals marked. Output is to a transformer with center tap. Again, terminal connection is obvious.Ok, so I bought a dud! So I buy another one. I connect it up the day after I receive it. Same as last unit - draws a lot of current but does no oscillate. No Output. It's going back tomorrow.

It Works Well! Great Deal for the Price
The media could not be loaded. It works great after a little adjustment. Will need a 24Vdc, around 10 - 15Amp power supply to drive the oscillator board. Components get a little warm after running for 3 or so mins. The two ladder wires get extremely hot from the spark and will burn you if touched.

It does not have any instructions!
If you don't know how to connect these parts, it will not be worth the postage let alone the cost. Amazon needs to make standards for what they sell.

Fun kit to experiment with!
The media could not be loaded. Pretty straight forward build. Minus 1 star for lack of instructions, but you can find instructions on youtube, or on Amazon (for a kit that costs twice as much). I purchased an 8 amp 24 volt power supply for it on Amazon, and that works fine as shown in the attached video. Note that the arc REALLY heats up the wire, so not sure how long you could run it continuously. Let it cool before you adjust it to get the best angle for the arc to rise well.

where is the blue print??
I ordered 2 kits for a teaching aid.The kits arrived would seem well made enough, but there was no schematic provided..To insure it is properly assembled, and feel really comfortable with with this build...I am going to need that!!Please respondI'm at a generous 3 stars until a print is providedI

Works perfectly
All the parts are robust and good quality. The final product works great. If you're inclined to complain that this didn't come with instructions, may I suggest you do some research or put everything back in the box. This is a fantastic learning and teaching tool, but it's not a toy. However, it's also 3 feet of exposed electrode connected to a flyback transformer pushing (on my setup) 6-7 amps through the air. If you don't already understand how this works (if you need step by step instructions), think twice about assembling.
