This is a typical gait belt that’s been used for many years in physical therapy and at home with an unstable person. Typically it’s placed around the waist and a caregiver would walk behind, holding onto the belt. It’s surprisingly sturdy, and offers security to a senior or otherwise disabled person.My use is a bit different, but it has worked out great. I have fibromyalgia with very weak, painful muscles and if I slide to the floor getting out of bed I don’t have enough strength to pull myself back up. My mattress has to be very, very soft or I can’t sleep. That presents two problems for me. With the soft sides I can’t get enough leverage to pull myself up. Secondly, due to the marshmallow mattress, it’s really hard to just turn over. I struggle over and over, get winded and frustrated. I was quite familiar with gait belts and happened to think one would help. I purchased two of the 100” ones and placed it in the middle of my double bed, across, as if it was wearing a belt. One end would be tucked way under the mattress and the opposite end brought up and over with enough length to reach the sleepers side.I put it under the top sheet so it’s handy to grab hold of whether I’m trying to turn over or start sliding off the edge of the bed. Works great!! It could also be placed in the opposite direction coming from the foot of the bed to assist someone that had trouble sitting up. Thankfully my bed is adjustable so I just have to push a button...

Love these gait belts, they make my life so much easier. As caretaker to my invalid husband, I could not do my job without them. Ordered two, one to wear and one to wash. They are very comfortable to wear, flexable , not stiff like others I have tried. I highly recommend them. They came two days after I ordered and was very well packaged. Well worth the money.

I have bought 3 of these belts in order to have a clean fresh one at all times. Having Parkinson’s I need lots of help toileting and getting dressed and I wear a belt day and night to help my caregivers taking care of me. The belts launder easily going through the dryer without any problems.

This gait belt worked awesome. This changed my mother and I’s life for the better from there on out. It really helped my bedridden mother to transfer from bed to wheelchair and little by little it helped to move her to the portable potty. Later I used it to help her to stand from a wheelchair for support on legs and now I’m using it to help her with walking. I am happy with this product and will recommend to everyone.
