Hex Head Crank Arm Bolts 8mm x 15mm, Pack of 2

These are surprisingly well-made and even have a coat of blue 'loctite' applied, which is nice. 5/16" Hex male driver is required to install. Here's how I install these bolts (since it can really ruin your day if you snap one of these inside the spindle): First, I use a spare high-strength stainless steel bolt with a washer (any good hardware store will have these, bring your new bolts to match up). This allows me to apply enough torque to seat the crank arm fully - and not attempt this with the final bolts, which are a weaker grade. I also apply a thin layer of anti-seize grease to the spindle, so the crank arm has less friction when seating. Once I have the crank arm fully seated with my trial high-strength bolt, I remove that bolt and install these final bolts. These bolts give a nice finished look, the rubber sleeve is not a washer, it's a plug to help keep moisture and debris out of the assembly. Seats perfectly into the crank arm and looks great.

The bolt had fallen out of my GT Slammer and I couldn't find measurements for a replacement anywhere. I took a slight risk by buying these but it fit perfect and I couldn't be happier with it.
