Pleasantly surprised
I am setting up a relative's backyard audio system and decided it needed an additional set of side speakers to balance out the volume level throughout. I was close to hitting his budget limit, so I picked up a pair of these because of the great price. I also purchased a few of their soundbars for the office conference rooms, so I was fairly confident they would perform decently. The main speakers are def tech aw6500, and the rear rock speakers are Sonance rock speakers RK83. I was blown away by these. They perform better than the much more pricey Sonance, making the rock speakers sound synthetic and hollow. I had one speaker of each connected to the same amp OSDXMP300 Sonance on one side and Klipsch on the other, and I could immediately tell the difference. I tried the same test with Klipsch and Def Tech, and the sound was almost identical. The Def Techs had more bass, but the highs were fairly even to my ears. To me, since I am also running 2 Bose MB210WR subs up front and another in the rear of the yard, bass level on the smaller speakers was a non issue for me. I was standing close to these, and with the volume turned up, I could literally feel the air coming from the speakers. With the others I could not. They push hard and sound brilliant. The only negative I have to bring up, is I need to place these on an uncovered side wall. I contacted Klipsch to ask for an IP rating, and they responded "Thank you for contacting Klipsch! We do not provide an IP rating for our outdoor speakers. The KIO-7 are water resistant but they are not completely water proof and should be mounted beneath an eave whenever possible." It's still not a deal breaker for me, I simply purchased some covers for the off season and done deal. I live in Southern California, with mild weather year round. So, wanted to share this if you live in a harsher environment. I recommend these for quality of sound and the great price (Klipsch web site sells them for over $400).

They're Klipsch! What more needs to be said?
I was on the fence about which patio speakers to get. I debated for weeks between these Klipsch KIO-650 speakers and two other pair that were cheaper and had more reviews. But since I have Klipsch bookshelf speakers in my home office, I decided to get these and my wife and I are so glad that I did!I've never been one to believe that speakers need "broken in" but I have to say that after a week of using these at least 3 hours a day at a decent volume level they are sounding better than when I first installed them! I have a Fosi DA2120C amplifier (great amp, btw!!) pushing them and they get plenty loud enough for our patio that's roughly 650 square feet.I installed them about 8 feet high and I angled them down slightly to direct the sound towards the listening area rather than the entire back yard. They have have a fantastic clear sound, and I'm noticing details in music that I've never heard before on songs that I've listened to for 20+ years! My wife, who doesn't usually notice details in sound, commented on how clear they are! As for bass, if you're going to listen to bass-heavy music or want to rattle the neighbor's windows, these aren't for you. But they produce the perfect amount of bottom end to round out the sound and bring attention to the instruments, especially the bass guitar. Something I noticed is that if I sit directly in front of them in the "stereo sweet spot" the bass almost disappears, but if I move anywhere else, the bottom end is more than sufficient! They are white and blend in perfectly with our patio to the point that guests have to look to see where the music is coming from. They include the mounting bracket but do not include any screws to mount them with. The binding posts on the back accept 14-gauge wire fairly easily but I think 12-gauge might be a challenge.Overall, my wife and I really enjoy the sound that these speakers produce! She even commented that we should get a second pair "you know, for surround sound out here". Don't tempt me!
