Viking Farmer Orchard Grass Hay for Rabbits and Small Pets, 5 lbs

Absolutely hands down the best orchard hay! My guinea pigs LOVE this stuff, as does my family! (We are all quite allergenic and Orchard hay is a wonderful alternative to folks who are allergic to Timothy hay. We were all having terrible allergies to the Timothy hay so I switched to orchard and we now have ZERO allergies, yay!)I've ordered orchard hay from a few different, well-reviewed companies here on Amazon and off Amazon. This is BY FAR the best! I cannot overstate the quality. The pieces are very, very long, green, and fresh. There is little to no dust. Several other places I had ordered from had a lot of brown pieces mixed in that my piggies would take great effort to pull out of their hay rack, pile up, and refuse to eat. While their pickiness was adorable and hilarious, it was also a huge waste. This hay must taste great too because they popcorn like crazy every time I put a new handful in their rack. Buy it! Your pets will thank you. :)

We just got our 2 boars about a month ago, and have been trying different food and hay to see what they like.This hay, so far, is great! I opened the box, and was hit with the smell of freshness. It was nice and green, and not all dried out and brittle.The tops are thick and dense. The rest of the hay looks way better than Kaytee hay for sure.I dropped a few pieces of this into their cage when I opened it. Their noses went wild and it was gone really quick. I filled their hay sack, which still had some Kaytee in the bottom of it. They were pulling the Viking hay out to eat it over the Kaytee.As of now, I highly recommended this hay, our boars love it!

I have been using Small Pet Select hays for over 2 years for my guinea pigs and rabbits, and have always considered it the best in quality, and my pets prefer it over any others. Now, having a small-animal rescue, I wanted to compare different hays and give my patrons choices. I found Viking Farmer in my research, and being of Viking descent myself, and appreciating their family farm story (and their logo is really cool!) I decided to give them a try. I rank their orchard hay up at the top with SpS. Fresh, quality cutting, securely packaged, and my animals love it. They even threw in a surprise Easter egg of their pellet food, which our rabbit devoured in a few minutes. I plan to try more of their products. I like having choices, and Viking Farmer is now on my list for my own use, as well as a recommendation to my patrons.(I did NOT receive any solicitation or compensation for this review.)

I’ll be glad to change my 1-star review if Viking farmer updates their description that this is 1st cut orchard hay, not the soft less allergy prone one. 1st cut still has the flowers. I bought orchard for my allergies. The hay is great quality but I didn’t have my inhaler. I was choking, asthmatic and couldn’t breathe when I opened it.Please update your description! RABBIT HOLE HAY will tell you which cut their orchard hay is. They even tell you on their website the differences between the coarse cut (with flowers like this) and the soft cut (no flowers just leaf).I love Viking farmer their hay is great quality and I want to support them but for safety issues this was dangerous for me, and a waste of my money. Please update your description.

This is the best hay I’ve been ordering for months. It also arrives quickly and is very fresh and green. I also appreciate that 90% of of it is long strands of hay and not just chopped down bits. My rabbit absolutely loves this hay. I do however wish they had a 10 pound version available for order since the 5 pound is quite expensive and runs out rather quickly. However as long as the quality stays the same, I have no problem continuing to order more of this hay in the future!
