Is it unfinished and untreated wood?

It is treated, and very nice and smooth. It is a bit slippery for little babes, so I purchased an anti-slide Hippo-gripper at the grocery store to place on the seat. It works very well. The bonus to this highchair is the wooden bar children can place their feet on when they are a bit taller. It keeps their legs from falling asleep.

Does the child slide down in this chair since there is not a vertical bar between the legs?

No the child foes nut slide down. No my kids are 3 years old and 19 month old so they're perfect for this chair. I will not recommend putting a baby because I can see how she/he could slide down.

Can be use without the front bar? I just want something my baby can get in and out easily. Thank you!

I'm sure you can but without the front bar there would be no way to strap the baby in. Also does not seem safe.

Excellent Value

Easy to assemble. Appears to be sturdy. They are stackable so they are easy to store (we bought four of them). It is an un-padded wooden chair so I am not sure about comfort.

I bought this for my grandson. He loves being at the table now instead of beside it. I find he stays in the chair longer and eats better since he is eating with everyone at the table. He seems more comfortable and enjoys being part of the breakfast, dinner clan.

Wish I found this earlier and didn’t need to buy other chairs

I bought two other high chairs (plastic). One is extremely difficult to clean. The other is not very sturdy. Until I went to eat at a restaurant and saw a high chair like this. Super easy to clean. Very sturdy. I remember in the first few days when I had this, my baby loved sitting in it and didn’t want to get out.
