5 Horned Nerites. Could not ask for more.
New to having a live aquarium with more than just fish and plastic decorations. I have a betta tank with some ghost shrimp and wanted snails. FYI Horned Nerites are pretty tiny! That is why I ordered them. There were no local stores with stock so I ordered online. I ordered just before on July 2nd, and it showed shipped but never updated. Finally on July 8th I reached out. The shipment had been delayed due to the holiday, they were coming from California to Florida, and the seller didn't want them sitting for the holiday and possibly Sunday as well. I understood. They finally really shipped on the 8th with an ETA of the 10th. Okay, 2 days. They might survive (Jacksonville Florida is getting mid 90s every day rn. The usps delayed the package to an eta of 7/13 and I freaked out, thinking the snails will certainly die. I contacted the seller who tbh was just like "we shipped them late because, july 4th. you will get them when usps delivers them". Anyways they came on the 11th, so 3 days after shipped. They WERE shipped with an Ice pack, but that had long since melted. They were insulated but unpacking them I could feel the box inside was hotter than my apartment. (they shipped usps and were in my mailbox in 95 degree heat in the florida sun). They were in a sealed inflated bag wrapped in paper towels that had been dampened. I couldnt see the snails, only the white wrapped paper towels. I dropped the floating paper towel bag in my tank.. it felt warm and the 77 degree water should cool it some. after about 20 minutes i removed the paper towel from the bag and placed it in a bowl as i dripped about 30 ml of tank water over it.. maybe 5 minutes later i opened the paper towel. that is the first pic. the 5 guys on the paper towel. i checked them each and they all looked to be intact. 2 have what may be calcium deficiencies on their shells, hopefully some the scuttlebone in their new home can heal that. i placed them on top of one of the hides and in the gravel next to it. within seconds i tried to move one and he was attached to the hide. within 5 minutes they had all began to move and within ten minutes there were obviously bare spots where they all began to eat the brown algae. These dudes are happy, healthy and active. They arent just moving due to stress, they are eating which means they are comfy... within 15 minutes of being in the water and within 45 minutes of being in my mailbox.. after a 36 hour cross country trip in the summer. IDK about other snails, but the horned nerites are worth it..as an afterthought. the colors are decent. you arent getting artworks. they all have horns. 1 is swirled. the other's a kind of basic dull colors but they are colored. i have a small black racer nerite snail also and the difference is obvious. he is small, smooth and dark brown, and the horned snails are not. again. Great buy on nerites. Will use again!!

Algae be banished!
In January (2018) I had a break in the frigid Ohio weather so I ordered 5 snails, because the algae in my tank was getting out of control. They came in a plastic bag with mostly air, some water at the bottom, and it was packaged in an insulated box. The day they arrived to me was back below freezing and they sat on my porch for an hour or two before I got home from work, but they were okay. I placed them into my tank making sure each was either on its side or upright (some were immediately active) and within 10 minutes, all of my snails were up and exploring their new home. They were small, 1/4 to 1/2 inch at the largest. 1 died within the first week, I removed the empty shell, and from then on I could count only 4 snails at any given time. I hadn't found another empty shell, so I assumed the 5th snail escaped and crawled away. But last night I counted all 5 snails. The colors of them aren't as vibrant as pictured, I have 2 that are a dull tan/brown, and 3 that are tan/brown with black stripes. That could be my only "complaint" but color doesn't matter. I got them to help with algae, and they are little algae eating machines! They have also all doubled in size, and it's only April. My tank is almost algae free now, and I'd had a huge algae problem with it coating my driftwood, plants, ornaments and the sides of my aquarium. I would clean it, and it'd be back in 3 days. Combined with frequent water changes and these little snails, my tank is back to looking beautiful. For those who say their snails only lived a month--it may be because you didn't keep a close enough eye on nitrates. Even if you have an established tank, nitrates build up if you don't keep up on water changes. And, when you first add them, your tank may even go through a mini-cycle because of their addition, depending on the size of your tank. Water changes, and making sure they have enough to eat, they should be living at least a year. Now that my algae is under control, I will be feeding them snail stix and hope to keep them alive as long as possible!Update: It is now June, all 5 snails still alive and have doubled in size, and my tank is still spotless.

Very cute and clean extremely well ✨
I got 5 small horned nerite snails in the mail, they were in a small package 📦 and were well secure. At first I was a little scared ordering because I wouldn’t know if the snails were dead or not even if I opened the package, I guess I would have to wait until they moved or something. But I was so wrong and relieved to see that as soon as I put them in a little tub, they started moving instantly and exploring! All of them arrived safe and alive, and I love their little patterns so I can tell who’s who. Only one came with horns which was the darker one, but I assume that’s normal and I don’t mind and since I’m reviewing a month later, I can tell with the calcium solution I’ve been adding to the tank (for my shrimp too), they have been starting to get little horn bumps, so they must be healthy and regrowing their little shells 🐚.I also had a problem with the tank accumulating so much brown algae, and it was literally gone in a day from putting these snails in, I swear the tank is so clean 😳 and clear. They eat all the extra food that’s dropped in, so I’m really happy with these adorable little snails ✨

Junk
Fast delivery and had one extra which was great. Important to follow directions placing in tank. Already eating algae quickly! One side note they are small when you get them and so big fish think they are toys to play with at first. And give them a day and the color stripes pops!UPDATE : all sails never grew and all are dead. My tank is full of sharks and water conditions perfect. The mystery snails I had before are still striving and doing great. So my belief is the snails had a disease and I should get full refund but no response from seller.
