Q: How do I prepare them before baking as they are so soft

Not sure you can other then put them on a baking tray. I returned mine as they were uneven. They should hold there shape, I have silicon loaf tins that do.

Q: Can these be used in a slow cooker?

I've only used them in an oven but would imagine you could.
