Q: Why is Forever crossed out?

It is crossed out so that counterfeiters will not print the stamps from a digital copy. The stamps you will receive does not have that crossed out.

Q: Why are these double the cost that they are from the actual post office or usps online?

Bypass purchasing ANY USPS postage stamps on Amazon. One response also failed to mention that there is a markup from some of the sellers. Do yourself a favor while saving $$: use USPS direct website to purchase your stamps. You may not find these particular stamps but there is a good selection. USPS does charge shipping and handling, cost depends on $$ you're spending. But far cheaper than this ridiculous price.

Q: Are these afficial .55 cent stamps?

These are "forever" stamps. As I understand it, they are worth whatever the USPS is charging for first class postage at the time. If the postage is 55 cents, then the stamps are worth 55 cents; if the postage goes to 60 cents, then the stamp value will rise to 60 cents, that's the meaning of "forever" stamps. D.

Q: Are these still good for 2020?

Yes these are good forever to mail a letter, even when the price goes up.
