Now I am not expert locksmith, but if you are asking: Can you replace a dead bolt lock system with a Mortise lock system with major alteration on the door. The 2 system are so different the entire mortise lock system slides into the heading of the door while your existing deadbolt system only has a hole just for the dead bolt to move in and out. In conclusion I would not attempt do the swap, the door needed to have been design for mortise lock system
