Fabulous and practical resource
I'm a marriage and family therapist. I have looked at many resources regarding the topic of childhood social skills and friendship, but I find this particular book the most practical, helpful, and useful in my work with children and their parents. I have been able to consult it to help a child overcome being excluded on the playground, deal with meanness , teasing and bullying, and figuring out how to make more and better friends. The parents guide and support from the sidelines, but do not do the interventions for their children. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Much more useful than social skills class that our teacher recommended
Much more useful than social skills class that our teacher recommended. Important lesson learned on preppin appropriate behaviour and rules prior to play date. Chapter tend to be repetitive, but reinforces key concepts. Recommended by our daughter's occupational therapist in lieu of an expensive social skills class!

Amazing book
Great Ormond Street hospital reccomended this book for our son, and we found it so much help. Hopefully we can now pass on this help to our son who suffers from tourettes and finds it hard to make friends and to understand the unwritten rules os social behaviour.

Great book
So nice to see a book with organized, practical advice on how to help your little one make and keep friends. I was worried that it would encourage more "helicopter parenting" but it really doesn't. It encourages parents to train kids so they can make their own friends and solve their own problems. The book helps with ways to support your child, but doesn't make you think you're supposed to do everything for them. This is a great book for any parent, but especially helpful if your kid is struggling and you're looking for a better way to help.
