GrivelExplorer Anti-Slip Micro Crampon

Much better than your average slip on anti slip device, I would say these are more for the people who go hill walking in the firm compacted type of snow you get after the path has been trampled down. A bit over kill for going to local shops for a paper. Also take care getting correct size.

Used these on scafell pike a few times in the ice and snow and i walking around really confident with out slipping

Wore these spikes once on a long winter mountaineering day out. The chains snapped on both after a couple of hours use just walking on an icy mountain track. They are easy to put on and come in a nice little carry case but by Grivel’s standards, these are pretty poor! They are just not strong enough. The chain links are flimsy and should be thicker in my opinion. Grivel have a great name as their crampons are fantastic! But they really need to go back to the drawing board with these and design a more robust product. I always look after my equipment and keep it clean and in excellent condition. These are just not fit for purpose!
