Works well for 3C hair
This shouldn't be a question, but when your hair is this thick, it has to be detangled before using this brush. The bristles are removable on this model as well. Usually, I only need to section about 12 parts and it styles well. One thing I would say, is if your hair is particularly thick, do not use this unless it's very damp. It will rip out your hair painfully, otherwise.

Comparing to the D3 7 row!
The media could not be loaded. I have been using the traditional D3 7 row for 3 years, off and on but permanent on for the past year and got down to 3 rows. Let me be clear, I do not have type 3 or 4 curly hair. I don’t even have curly hair, it’s beach wavy that I like to scrunch because I am too lazy to use heat tools and do not like what they do to my hair. I used the D3 with all 7 rows but I believe all 7 is meant for truly curly hair. I got many compliments when I used 4 rows which created tight to my head curls that looks amazing but I like to do that for when I am getting all dressy. On normal days I just want tamed, beach wave hair that’s all in uniform. The 3 rows were just giving me flat, long curls. I got this D31 and made it into the 4 rows and it is PERFECT! Looser, wider curls! You really do have to try different Denman brushes and play around with the rows to find the right kind for your hair type because it really does make a difference. I also do not use the brush how some YouTubers use it. I actually rinse my hair upside down after washing and conditioning it. Then I wring out any extra water. I apply a quarter size amount of my favorite leave in (kinky curly leave in conditioner). Then I brush my hair from the front (while my head is still upside down in the shower) and I brush the front, the back, then staring at the the hair by my ear, all the way on the side I brush up from the roots to the ends and I curl the brush clockwise once I start to get to the ends and work my way to the other side. I seen 1 YouTuber do it this way and I have tried it regular brushing way and lost a bunch of volume doing it that way. I scrunch in a dollop of the kinky curly gel.

Not as soft.
I have used Denman brushes since my grade school days & still continue to use them today. The bristles of this brush seems to be very stiff & hard on my scalp.

Worth the money
I use this brush on my daughters whose hair is thick and ranges from curly to coily and coarse. The brush works great on all their hair types! Thoroughly combs it, and only a minimum amount of hair is pulled out. Just love, love, love.I do find the brush a little uncomfortable to hold and the handle get slippery when it gets wet.

Doesn't slide back on.
I like the brush. The only problem is when I slid the bristle holder off to clean the brush, it won't slide all the way back on. I've tried many times and just gave up. They really need to make the bristle holder slide back on much easier.

Smooths and goes through thick, wavy hair!
I love this brush! It goes through my wet or dry hair effortlessly. It's great for blow drying, although I'm thinking of getting a paddle brush since my hairs are longer than mid-back. Love this brand!Stimulates scalp, gently grooms my hair for its healthiest yet,
