This chili powder tastes good.

This chile blend is quite a good one, enough spice to be interesting but not so much as to be overwhelming. I would purchase this product again.

great flavor

I'm not normally one to use spice mixes, but sometimes I am in a hurry. Plus, as a vegetarian, I make a lot of Mexican- and Southwestern-style dishes where chili powder can really enhance the flavor. Where I live, it's actually somewhat hard to find "chili powder" mixes, so this is what I usually buy. It helps that I like the taste!Please note: this is fairly salty, so you would definitely want to reduce the amount of salt you use when you cook if you plan to add this. This also includes ground chilies, garlic powder, oregano, and cumin (not necessarily in that order). I like the proportions of each in the blend; I think it really works well together and it's pretty much all I add to my chili besides a bit of black pepper. I find it to be a little spicy, but not overwhelming (i.e., like straight cayenne pepper would be).I think the color is quite pretty -- a nice, dark red. The color is still pretty vibrant after my bottle has been open for a year, and the flavor is also still strong. (I keep it tightly sealed in the original jar at room temperature on a spice rack in my kitchen.) I usually don't measure it but instead just shake some out (there is a shaker top) but you could also remove the shaker top -- the bottle opening is large and most measuring spoons should fit. Please note the container is transparent/translucent plastic.
